Ing-dibas statement (not sure if this is recent?) is a ****ing joke

Some say, that Apple allowed the banks to publish beforehand. Possibly a strategy to get other banks on board once they realise the backlash they're seeing via social media!
That page has no links to any sources. I'm linking to press articles (by respectable papers such as Handelsblatt or SZ) or the direct and official communication by the banks via Twitter/Facebook etc. You decide which sources you trust more. I like to see the direct quote when reading about speculative stuff. Too much copy and paste out there. I'm just gathering all the info in one place
I am not sure about putting comdirect in the confirmed section, when i see the tweets from Comdirect it looks more like wait and see

Maybe stupid question: Why doesn't Apple just upload the https://www.apple.com/de/apple-pay/ page with alle the partners listed? Why those individual statements?
Apple will work as everytime: de/apple-pay/ will be online on the day, Apple Pay will start in Germany. Not one minute early.

If you break it down to real existing announcements, the true list would be the following:

confirmed:
- Deutsche Bank
- HypoVereinsbank
- N26
- WireCard (boon.)
- VIMpay

declined:
- ING-Diba
- Postbank
- Norisbank
- Spardabank

I would be very surprised if we don’t get many more banks at launch. Because if it is just drown to those few banks Apple could have launched years ago. Don’t see a reason to wait that long, fall behind google and then just make a mediocre launch with just a couple of banks. Maybe that’s exactly what’s going to happen but that’s not very Apple like I guess.

Just got off the phone with my local Sparkasse and they gave me the old spiel about Apple not opening their NFC interface - blah blah blah.

I think this will be the last straw and if they really won't be offering AP later this year, I'll switch banks.

Someone on twitter (I think) said that Sparkasse is the Internet Explorer of the banking world. LOL!

Has anyone in here switched their main account to N26? Or is this a bad idea?

I agree.

DKB had official slides showing DKB AP cards more than 1,5 years ago, which makes me assume they will support it. Them not being a launch/early partner would be a mystery to me, given their intentions from 2017.

N26 is great, but atm I would not count on them as my primary bank account.

DKB is great but if you want Apple Pay as an early adopter you should open an account at the banks, who already gave a commitment to Apple Pay

btw: are there any hints about girocard already? this would be interesting if they implement it to AP

If ComDirect is not on board then i will use N26 more often, and comdirect just for background purposes

Wouldn’t recommend N26 as your main account. I am a customer for a couple of years now but mostly use it for online paying and traveling. Wouldn’t use it as my main bank account since they lack of good customer support and basic features like saving accounts which they promised for years and some other stuff that most direct banks offer. Just get a free account put some money on there and give it a try. Worth for Apple Pay I guess. Otherwise check bunq out.
[doublepost=1533140705][/doublepost]BTW i created a Banking/Apple Pay related poll. If you’d like o tak part feel free to do so. Of course it is totally anonymous but the results are public and will be posted here on the forum. It’s just one basic stuff that people are mentioning anyway but I guess it would be nice to have a overall picture of what kind of people are hanging out here.

No need to take part. It’s totally up to you.

I would switch the big red S to „unclear“, as there is not one single official and quotable reaction. Neither on the press distribution list nor on the customer channels.

I think, they will answer tomorrow and then we know if thumbs up or thumbs down.

So... @docfred I think it's your job to come and defend the Sparkasse. I have now heard that there is no change on the official position: Sparkasse wants access to the NFC chip and is not prepared to pay a single penny to Apple. If needs must, they will seemingly take this further to the regulators (BaFin?).
I don’t „defend“ them if there is nothing to defend. On Twitter I „piesack“ them myself.
(Even senilebooster likes some of my tweets :D)

And the linked article is rubbish ;)

See, they say: „Ohnehin schießt das Kreditinstitut gerade aus allen Rohren.“

And if you look on their Twitter Account there is one single tweet today. There is no press release or anything else. Even in quoted facebook not a single word about Apple Pay.

Strange „Feuer aus allen Rohren“. Don’t you think so?;)

iPhone Ticker is collecting stuff from the net, does not check themself and do clickbait. About ever topic.

Interesting is the official statement. Nothing more, nothing less. Like at any other bank.
