If this is true... sunny2k1 has been right.
Let's wait until the end of this month. If he was right, then AP would have to start in DE, NL and AT. That was his prediction back in January. I'm not a pessimistic guy, but I don't think AP will start in any of these countries in March.

Yay new rumors! I just got my hopes up and ready for March 20 :)
I'm pretty sure AP is coming to Germany this year and until then I'll just keep my boon account.

The French app Lydia, which is used for sending money between friends has announced it’s arrival to Germany and Austra this year.

https://www.agefi.fr/fintech/actual...6/lydia-veut-tenter-pari-risque-payant-240247

https://techcrunch.com/2018/02/15/lydia-raises-161-million-to-become-the-paypal-of-mobile-payments/

Why is this interesting you say?
Because in all the countries they are available, they support Apple Pay, so it may very well be that Apple Pay arrives in the first half of the year.

But Apple Pay is available in France since summer 2016 and Lydia began supporting Apple Pay in December 2017.
Not being pessimist for our german friends but I don't think that's related, maybe they only want to expand to other countries

As far as I remember that guy predicted the start of AP for Germany in 2016 and 2017 and was super sure he’s right... but he was wrong, as we do know...
Are you sure? I thought it was this guy: https://twitter.com/klotzbrocken

Can you show me his post or blog article from 2016, where Mr Leichsenring predicted the start of AP?

And by the way: Only because I posted his tweet here, doesn't mean I trust him

There are only two articles on his blog about Apple Pay, one from October 2017 and the second one from December 2017. In the one from October he commented on the probable arrival time of Apple Pay in Germany, and what he said was:

“Fazit: Zwar hat keiner der Gesprächspartner einen konkreten Termin verraten, eine Einführung steht jedoch unmittelbar bevor. Ich rechne damit entweder zum Verkaufsstart des neuen iPhone X Ende Oktober (10 Prozent Wahrscheinlichkeit), spätestens aber im ersten Halbjahr 2018 (90 Prozent Wahrscheinlichkeit).”

In English: Conclusion: Though none of my contacts (interlocutors) have given me a specific launch date, a launch is imminent (just around the corner). I’m expecting it to be the date of the sale start of the iPhone X at the end of October (10% probability), but no later than first half of 2018 (90% probability).

He also mentions that he has contacts in multiple banks which have confirmed the ongoing negotiations with Apple.

Do someone knows if Apple was able to keep the release of AP secret in other regions bout one week before Launch?

I doubt they would be able to keep the rumours that quiet.

Latest rumours were talking bout 20 of March... I slowly doubt that date...

Rhea were with Italy, afaik.

Also, Dutch „bunq“ has added support for Apple Pay in Italy, and they announced a very hyped up event on March 20.

For Italy you found the country one day before launch on Wikipedia. And some sites claimed on this day, that AP would launch the next day. So, yes!

Have u noticed the „euro“ instead of a country like „it“?!

Maybe we see something like an Europewide launch...

Possible. The bunq logo is also found in the source of the Spanish Apple Pay website so at least Spain and Italy it seems.

Considering Bunq is available in Germany as well wouldnt it just make sense for all of those people interested in apple pay (if AP is really coming to NL) to just open an account there? I mean you get an NL IBAN so I consider the mastercard or maestro whichever you choose (up to three are included in premium) will unlike N26 be registered to NL as well which means AP could actually be working for german customers as well. Like it does with boon. Of course you would have to pay the premium fee which I dont know how much it is right now havent been using bunq for over a year now.
