It is a separate scheme but one might assume that stores will updates their terminals in one go.I was led to believe that the £30 increase is separate from places updating their terminals to remove the cap entirely.

Also, finally this has finally arrived. This is one of the reasons i was so excited to get the 6+, 128GB, screen and being able to pay with my phone. Apple really are poor at extending their services outside the US. But I'm glad its here and am looking forward to my mostly card-less future.
Hahahaa! This made me chuckle!Just used at McDonald's, I think the cashier got confused when I said Apple Pay, ended up with this.......
First Direct management: 'Quick! Customers are flooding our support channels asking about Apple Pay, what will we do?'Just had this email from First Direct
I am actually quite angry about this. Not so much because I can't use Apply Pay today, but more that as you say, we've been lied to. HSBC were a launch bank, and were clearly ready to go given their deleted tweet. They've either had a last minute problem (fine, just say so) or perhaps more likely Apple have pulled support because they let the cat out of the bag too early. They're lucky First Direct are so good and this is not an issue worth changing banks for, but in a climate of distrust in banks this doesn't do them any favours. What's bad about this is that HSBC are now saying that they never planned to launch with Apple Pay, contradicting all their earlier published material & tweets (which have now been deleted).
This "deny we ever said it" attitude is basically lying to their customers, which is the reason I will be moving my accounts away from them today.
Changing bank accounts is very straight forward these days. Your new bank does all the work for you.
Changed from Barclays to Nationwide and all I did was complete a form and nationwide did all the hard work for me.
Well, I had my doubts but I am currently sitting on a London bus I paid for with Apple Pay.
The ticket inspector also came onboard (what are my chances) and it passed the check. Just ask to use his NFC reader. He had no idea what Apple Pay was. He was also not impressed.
Seemed to take a little while to wake up on the reader, but it worked well.
There was no way I was putting the phone down until both were activated! Finally through to RBS for the 2nd time, the 1st they only managed to activate it on my watch so had to phone again to activate it on the phone.
Ah sweet, will definitely be looking into that. HSBC are losing my trust quickly, things like this don't really help.
HSBC's website has been updated to say late July also.

There's no need for a card to be contactless for you to be able to load it into Apple Pay, just depends on your bank and account type (generally business account aren't supported at the moment).Maybe a silly questions here but my CC isn't contactless I can use this on apps that support Apple Pay, and I'm guessing for obvious reasons it cant be used at contactless readers?
If it's not giving you the option yet just do the region trick (watch app/general/language & region/region format/ united states), add your card, then switch it back.I'm seeing nothing in the passbook section of the watch app yet. I don't have my watch with me, do I need to be connected to it for the app to update on my phone?
Yeah I've got 2 which are contactless but my CC isn't just didn't know if I could still use the CC via my iPhone s contactlessThere's no need for a card to be contactless for you to be able to load it into Apple Pay, just depends on your bank and account type (generally business account aren't supported at the moment).
You can give it a go, I won't promise it'll work as I don't know what bank you're with or what type of CC account it is but if it doesn't work it won't be because it isn't contactless.Yeah I've got 2 which are contactless but my CC isn't just didn't know if I could still use the CC via my iPhone s contactless
