Open passbook , click on the required card, the press the i button down in the bottom right corner, this will bring up the card information including transactions

I have an iPhone 5s and Apple Watch - I do not see an option to view recent transactions as my cards only appear on the watch passbook app and not on the iPhone.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Just wondering if this is a limitation due to having an older iPhone

Yup, same here. As I mentioned earlier.

I have an iPhone 6 and a Watch and I only see the recent transactions that I used my iPhone 6 for, not my watch.

Do bear in mind that the device ID is unique to the device, not to you, therefore you have to activate Apple Pay separately on each device and they can't interact with each other because of the secure elements I am guessing.

This is t an older-phone limitation, the simple fact is that we have no way of viewing transactions made with the watch. It should be in passbook for the watch or in the apple watch app, but it isn't.

used apple pay for the first time today in Costa with no problems much easier than using bank card and some woman behind in the queue commented "that's clever", was going to use in Tesco (Hexham) which is right next to Costa but couldn't as the contactless option was disabled and also haven't updated their pos to contactless at self service still using the old ones

Ah I see - Makes sense...

So no one is able to view recent transactions if they paid using watch. Hope this gets sorted in Watch OS2 update...

Just used in co-op. Lady said it may not go through as there was something ...

Held with thumb on. Beep. Straight through. She was surprised and then asked more questions. I showed her how I'd used it and then passbook and she was very impressed.

Another home run by apple :)

Used Apple pay for second day running and used it at Lidl and the old couple behind me looked quite amused that i was paying with my phone.
Wife also shocked how quick it was compared to fiddling for either my money in my wallet or cha age in pocket. Got phone out held to machine and boom done within less than a second.
:apple:Pay rocks so far - will take some time before i leave the house without my cards though.

Had to go to the post office as well today to post something I sold on eBay and nothing up about Apple pay, even had my iPhone out ready and the woman just said to insert card so had to use it to pay

No matter what I try I just can't seem to get it to work.

After holding my phone near the terminal, my phone scans and accepts my thumb print, says "done" but no beep from the till

Tried in Costa, M&S, Boots, and Pret

Kinda embarrassing when im stood there trying to use it!

My Apple Pay experience so far.

  • BP worked first time
  • Costa Coffee – Several attempts but eventually worked
  • Waitrose – Several attempts but had to give up ( phone said it worked, till said it didn’t ) - FAILURE
  • Starbucks – First attempt phone said it worked, till said it didn’t. Tried a second time and it worked
  • BP worked first time - cashier wasn’t convinced, she then realised she needed to press a button her till about Nectar card before the transaction would clear on her side
So it seems that he BP contactless terminal works like a dream ( contactless on the side ) - those within Costa and Waitrose are a little more temperamental

Used in Tesco Express twice today, well once actually.Second one wouldnt work.Cannot remember what it said exactly.Something along the lines of card presented too quickly??Tried 4 times with the same result.Paid with card in the end.

100% first-time success in London so far.

One problem - Apple Pay is too slow.

It's physically difficult to do and at least 2-3 times slower than card/Oyster at actually processing. What might seem fast in the U.S. is just too slow in London.

I would get an Apple Store appointment booked in so they can take a look at your iPhone just to make sure it hasn't got a problem.

Are you taking iPhone away too fast after it beeps? Hold it there for a second longer just to make sure their end has time to catch up

Either that or the till operator is pressing the wrong buttons. Next time ask for the manager to have a look. Don't let them make you feel bad.

So day 2, Greggs, couldn't get the woman behind the till to realise it was just a normal card payment, she said they don't do contactless even though all their tills clearly have contactless pads, even when I got my card out she was still insistent it was chip and pin

And now just used it through the just eat app to order my Chinese, nice and quick

Did you verify your card?

Next time ask for the manager. Then he can teach her to use it. Don't be bullied by these people who haven't received proper training.

Interesting day...

Successfully used Apple Pay in Tesco Express while someone next me was having some trouble, the assistant said that they weren't accepting it yet and then I chipped in and said it just worked for me etc.

Again, used it as my contactless card on National Rail and when I got off the train there was a bunch of ticket inspectors, their readers forcing the phone to say 'try again', in the end they just said don't worry walk through.

Really do hope retailers get up to speed and make their staff aware of how easy and simple it is.

Pre-Authenticate apple pay, by going into the passbook/wallet app and then holding your thumb. You're then given 1 minute to tap onto the terminal. It's just as fast if not milliseconds slower than Oyster in that way. Did it this way 5 times today with no delay to anyone behind me.

Because it's not possible to pre-authorise using the watch I wonder if the watch would be any slower in London?

With the limited testing I've done I find the watch works much faster than the phone anyway.

You can. Just double tap up to a minute before you're ready to pay. Same as opening Passbook and scanning Touch ID on the phone.
