Used Apple Pay a couple of times this week running on a old Nationwide account. Worked well without any issues. The Marks & Spencer cashier was slightly confused when I held my iPhone up to pay. Can't have been many people used it yet I assume.

My main bank (Lloyds) really needs to hurry up and support it.

Tweet them @AskLloydsBank. If enough people get on to them they may pull there finger out.

Used Apple Pay for the first time today, had to try twice with the watch on the tube the very first time but worked perfectly after that. It could have been that I was holding the iPhone quite closely so perhaps it got the two confused.

Had to post a parcel today so used in the post office with the watch. Think our post lady was quite impressed, she hadn't seen one before.

Just used the watch in the post office and was successful. There was a slight delay in the terminal picking up a payment, and I will say it's a bit awkward trying to work out where/how to hold the watch for each of the types of payment terminal. I guess this will improve over time...

M&S/BP (petrol station so I'm not sure who's terminal it is) being the worst. It's at the far right of of the machine. You need to tilt the reader to access it!

Using Apple Pay at Nando's is super quick:

Me - I'd like to pay with Apple Pay.

Them - We don't do Apple Pay.

Me: There's a sign in the window saying you do.

Them: Let me get someone.

Etc.
I don't even say Apple Pay I say contactless.

Whatever happened..... to staff training?

I wish HSBC hadn't messed up with their support for Apple Pay. The only cards I own are HSBC debit and credit cards as well as Barclaycard Visa credit card and Amex. Barclays don't support Apple Pay. I can't add my HSBC cards yet because they haven't launched their support for it yet. I have added my Amex card but I don't really want to use it for everyday minor purchases. I have used it three or four times to try out Apple Pay because it's my only option right now. I'm on holiday abroad right now so won't be able to use my HSBC cards until I come back home on the first of August assuming HSBC cards are working by then.

HSBC is launching on the 28th of this month. When you get back it'll be all good to go

Will see. They originally were meant to be on launch day, which they confirmed themselves, then backtracked. I know they've said that date on Twitter, they did the same about launch day too.

I'll believe it when I see it.

If in a court of law they never actually said they would be live on launch day. Apple said Apple Pay would launch in July with these banks. It is still July when they launch. The date they announced was when Apple Pay was launching not when they were joining.

I'm equally annoyed as I was with Barclays and moved to first direct good job I got myself an rbs account at the same time.

However, if they do launch in July then they have made the target but given themselves extremely bad PR.

As the post above mine states they did originally state they would make launch day. However whether they did or not is besides the point. Other banks were able to make the launch day and considering the size of HSBC and their prominence in the banking sector they should have made it especially when other financial institutions were able to.

I'm with Santander, setup went very smoothly. I've used it several times now, both with phone and watch and it's been fine each time. Hope more places get contactless soon, I feel far more comfortable using Apple pay than giving my card details to retailers and it's much more convenient than cash.

There is sometimes a slight delay between the the phone or watch saying, "done", and the EPOS completing the transaction but some of that is down to the slow connections they get stuck with.

True but I was hoping to set up and use my HSBC cards before I went on holiday on the 18th. It's not that big a deal as I have been out of the country since the 18th and won't be back until 1st August.
