How long have you been waiting? I did the same thing I RSVPD and have not gotten anything back yet. I missed the last one requested an invite, I got one last night replied this morning. I was going to give it a couple of days and then email back and call the store. I must say that if they are as bad as they have been treating me. I mean I am not calling 24/7. I sent an email last week and called twice the last week. They never call anybody back. I am not really sure I want to deal with them anymore if they treat people like that. I mean I love apple but if all they are going to do is treat me like crap. They get no love (or money) from me.

Back to school season is a busy time for everyone. You have to understand that the store is chaos at almost all times. You shouldn't take it personally.

I just gave my information for Apple (hireright) to do a background check. Does this mean that I'm pretty much in?

It means they like you enough to at least prepare for a potential offer. You probably have at least one more hurdle, but if you've made it this far you shouldn't be nervous -- don't be overconfident though.

Well...I'll add my experience.

Went to the recruiting seminar on Sunday evening and I thought in a way it was kind of fun. I'm looking for a part-time 20-25 hour job on top of my current full time military job. I took it all in stride and was non-chalant about the whole thing. Asked a couple questions and played along with the scenarios.

On Wednesday I got a call asking for an interview with the store manager on Friday (today). I also immediately got the background check, threw me off how simple it is. I'm kind of used to the government security clearance review process so...it was a 2 minute questionnaire. Considering my current security clearance...I'm not worried about the background check

Interview with store manager today went well, was (like others have said) really more like a chat with a friend. Asked me questions about myself then the textbook retail interview questions. "Tell me a situation where...". A couple of them actually seemed a little redundant, but no big deal.

About an hour after that interview I got a call requesting "a final interview" with the market director tomorrow morning. So...here we go!

I know some people probably get irritated by this process for a retail position. I can see the need for these types of follow up interviews, almost a sense of checks and balances. Apple certainly has a recipe for success so, can't really blame them.

Hope I didn't just blow it by asking my Apple rep. for a date that I can expect a response, since I had three interviews in one night I was excited for being there and forgot to ask for a response date. :X

Hey! I thought I'd be the only one from here going to the recruitment seminar for UP Mall XD I wonder if it'll be incredibly competitive even though this is a small town.

Eh, seeing how it's a new store. They will have to hire quite a few people. Not many people know an Apple store is even going to be there. The less that know, the better chance we have of getting in.

Interview with the manager went extremely well. I was offered a job for Apple!!

You do not have to be 18 to work in an Apple store, they just really have to want you!

Got an email and booked a time for the Apple Seminar in Washington D.C. on the 13th. I swore I'd never work retail again after graduating from college, however, I applied about a month back to Apple Retail as a fallback.

I'm having a hard time deciding on whether or not to head down to D.C. in 2 weeks. On one hand, I love Apple and their products, on the other hand, I don't think I'm really what they are looking for. I'm really not a personality type of guy. I'm a guy that would be good in an gov't analyst position that would keep his mouth shut.

I don't know, most likely I'll head down just to see what they have to offer, but I really dislike the whole non-one on one aspect of it.

Advice? I could probably pull off a good presentation, as I did very well in the 5 or so I did in college to 100+ people, but it's not something I really ever wanted to do again if possible.

Well to be honest, the seminars are just one big personality test. They put 30 or so people in a room and the ones who have made a memorable impression by the end, they keep.

So I don't want to be rude, but if you're the sort of person who prefers to keep his head down and work quietly, it doesn't sound like you'd be a good fit for the job.

MacMan is right. The seminars in my mind are really just to see how you handle being around completely new people.

long time reader first time posting so i have a interview in 2 days with apple and i need help with these interview questions that i know there going to ask
AKA i already answered the questions just dont feel my are very good

What is the best mistake you've ever made?
Why do you want to work for apple?
Name a time in which you took someone and made them feel comfortable in a team environment?
Can you tell me an experience where you had a customer that was misled and how did you correct it?

I hope you're not asking us to give you statements to regurgitate and hence not be yourself. All of these questions ask you to draw from your own personal experiences as an individual. They're not looking for you to be "just like Bill, the fastest-promoted Expert in the store" or "Jamie, the Specialist who graduated from the local University with a four-year plan". Everyone has little things that make them unique. Everyone has their own experiences. Even if you don't feel that "your" answers are very good, they're still answers that define your individuality and being your own person is never a bad thing. Delve into the details of your answers. What made those answers your very own individual responses? Be calm, be sociable, and most importantly -- be yourself. If you get the job, it's because they wanted to hire you for who you are and nothing else. Best of luck.
