Hey

So this is where I'm at.

1. Invited to an interview seminar.
2. Email told me they were looking for other people
3. Got invited to another interview seminar
4. This one went a lot better.
5. I just got an email saying I have a one on one interview with one of the managers.

What should I expect. I know people are like "be yourself". Okay I can do that. I'm not asking for answers to questions... just some example questions. I'm worried about the "What if" customer scenarios. I don't have a lot of retail experience so that is my weakness.

Anything?

btw, I should also point out that they made it explicitly clear that you can reapply for subsequent hiring events if you don't make the initial cut.

As for salary I thought the starting base was $14/hr? Does this increase depending upon position?

Just got the background check email... sent it off, should be good. Aside from another interview (I assume), is there anything else to worry about? already been through the seminar, and two one-on-one meetings, fyi.

How long does the BG check take?

Your guess on BG is as good as mine...

My process was different... never had a group recruitment seminar.

brbubba:
No clue on salary, it varies depending on where you live and the position.

Still waiting to hear back from the HR guy about an interview... I'm hoping this week is finally it. I really doubt someone would really promise an interview twice, then fail to go through with it without some sort of contact. I would be seriously disappointed if I'm truly getting blown off like this. The store I applied at is pretty small. I'm willing to bet they just got backed up with the process. Still keeping faith that I will be contacted this week. It's been over a month since the seminar and almost a month since I was told I'd be contacted for an interview.

Apparently they just hired at least one person from a previous session. Maybe our session is next on the lineup and things will start to move forward with my interview process.

Keeping faith :apple: :D

Thank you :)

Has anyone else that has gone through or is currently going through the hiring process experienced such long wait times to be contacted?

I'd recommend you try to followup every so often. Don't give the impression that you are bugging them, but just to let them know you're still interested.

How long have you waited now?

It has been almost a month since I've been contacted to be set up for an interview. I've gone into the store twice so far in 7-day intervals to see if he's in, and so far he hasn't been in either time I was there (or so they told me). I left my name and number to let them know I was interested. And this weekend, instead of just going in and leaving my name and number, I sent an e-mail after I heard of another person at my school getting hired at the same exact store. Apparently they're very busy, but she already went though 5 interviews and got the job.

Like I said, I really doubt they would really say I would be contacted for an interview and just be completely blown off like this. I'm going with that they're super busy. If I don't hear anything this week, I'll be going in on a weekday and demand to speak with someone. It's been over a month since the seminar, and damn close to a month since I got my original "We'll be contacting you for an interview" e-mail.

Really hoping to hear from them this week. I don't want to be pushy, but I just want an answer as to what's taking so long and if I should still be waiting for an interview.

Not necessarily. As I'm currently experiencing, they can be either very quick with responding or EXTREMELY slow. I've been waiting almost a month just to get a call for an interview.

I suggest calling them or sending an e-mail to the recruiter(s). I'm just being patient at this point and hoping for the best. Good luck!

Has anyone else that has gone through or is currently going through the hiring process experienced such long wait times to be contacted?

the first week, i heard from them everyday.
the second week, not a word.

Just be patient. the background check seems to take a while. It was the longest wait of my life. LOL

If this delay is for my BG check, I must have one hell of a record that I don't know about... Haha

Just had a call from one of the store managers at a UK store asking for me to come in for a one to one interview with him

Ive been through 2 group interviews before this.

What should I expect from this one to one, will there be another stage after this?

Thanks

From what i know with a friend in the process now you can except unto 3-5 one on one interviews apparently.
