From what i know with a friend in the process now you can except unto 3-5 one on one interviews apparently.

No, there is typically only 1 one on one interview, following a seminar and a group interview. This can vary and you may sometimes have more than 1 one on one, but nothing like 5! Yes this is Apple but it's retail - it's not the security services

It has been almost a month since I've been contacted to be set up for an interview. I've gone into the store twice so far in 7-day intervals to see if he's in, and so far he hasn't been in either time I was there (or so they told me). I left my name and number to let them know I was interested. And this weekend, instead of just going in and leaving my name and number, I sent an e-mail after I heard of another person at my school getting hired at the same exact store. Apparently they're very busy, but she already went though 5 interviews and got the job.

Like I said, I really doubt they would really say I would be contacted for an interview and just be completely blown off like this. I'm going with that they're super busy. If I don't hear anything this week, I'll be going in on a weekday and demand to speak with someone. It's been over a month since the seminar, and damn close to a month since I got my original "We'll be contacting you for an interview" e-mail.

Really hoping to hear from them this week. I don't want to be pushy, but I just want an answer as to what's taking so long and if I should still be waiting for an interview.

Welcome to the real world. Bad HR Managers/Store Managers/etc will drop the ball when faced with the prospect of too many applicants and too few positions.

I know of someone who had 5 interviews for a specialist position. So it is possible

I have an interview seminar at apple this coming Monday. Now I am aware there are numerous pages on this thread giving information on what happens in seminars such as role play etc, but I was just wondering If anyone can shed any light on their recent experiences, negative or positive, with any branches in London, as mine is for one at Westfield shopping centre.

I really want to get this job, so any advice is most definitely welcomed.

I went to a London seminar in September and unfortunately never made it part the seminar but I have recently reapplied. As for the seminar itself, it's really laid back but be sure to pay attention when watching videos etc as they do pick people to answer questions and be sure to know Apple history as it looks impressive. Don't over dress or suck eggs and be sure to do your best to leave a lasting impression. Best of luck!

I was considering working at Apple once, but I found that their pay was surprisingly low relative to other competitive positions. Would love the discount tho!

I'd question where you found this out - Apple keep pay very secretive, partly because it varies based on experience. Staff don't even tell one another how much they earn. The pay at Apple is typically higher than most other retail stores. It is retail after all don't forget.

You must be smoking crack. Retail jobs at Gap and those places are barely above minimum wage. Apple generally pays at least 4+ dollars/hour over min. wage.

And as for corporate, Apple is notorious for underhiring/overpaying. I've known many people who worked as interns at corporate who were making a base of about 60k and were doing 60+ hours per week and were getting double overtime on top of that.

I have to agree, Apple's pay is actually very very good!

So I went to Lennox Mall Apple Store in Atlanta, GA. They said they weren't hiring but the manager would send off to another apple store if I email him at the store email. How much should I depend on him doing that? I dont think so but I'd thought I'd ask.

I wouldnt lose sleep over it, wouldnt hurt to send an email to the store and tell them what was said..but again its word against word, in experience from others I heard from they never really communicate too well it seems unfortunately.

Doesnt hurt to be a little persistent but not too aggressive

Had my first seminar this morning. Pretty cool actually. Unfortunately I was the youngest guy invited and the only one who hasn't graduated college. Hopefully that works to my advantage as I'm a freshman who needs cash and it's just a part time position.

Same situation, except I'm a sophomore in college :)

The guy that ran the seminar I attended emphasized "don't care how old you are, it's meaningless" (unless you're under 18 of course, then you would be disqualified from any job at Apple Retail)

Good luck :D

Got the Job offer :) I go into Core Training (or whatever its called), and then store training afterwards. No mention of me having to stay off of sites like this, mainly, i suppose, because I do not disclose who I am (Though I won't be posting here very much, if ever, anyways). Anyone know what the core training entails? it's a bunch of hours, so I hope it's paid :)

Also, did not have to take a UA, not that it would matter

Still patiently waiting to get a call to schedule an interview.

I haven't heard that I didn't get the job, and I was told (for a 3rd time) that I would be contacted to schedule an interview.

Im still giving the store the benefit of doubt as to why I haven't heard anything because it really seems like the store is way overloaded with everything.

I'm starting to consider applying again as for the Genius position as it still lists my Specialist application in "My Positions and Assessments".

Guess I'll keep waiting because the longer the wait, the closer to the end of the semester becomes. And when the semester ends, I can spend my 6 week break doing interviews and all that.

But almost 2 months to hear from them seems a bit lengthy...

It takes a while, I am still waiting for my background check.

My buddy and one of their friends went to a group seminar in mid sept, early october had a second interview and background check and got one email in late oct that were moving forward with other candidates however upon contacting the original HR lady said she was surprised they didnt select her and that it was kind of a lead on when they went through the bg process and said theyd be put back on a queue after the holiday season is up.
seems like a lot of incoherent and mindless managers in our region.
seems kind of ridiculous a company would spend money or atleast these HR recruiters and managers would spend company money on BG checks and not offer them the job or a job, considering their BGcheck was clean as it gets.
