WoW / Spaces Bug

Something broke with WoW in Maximized Windowed Mode and Spaces with the 10.5.5 update. I can no longer move between desktops while WoW is the active window on desktop 2 in Maximized Windowed Mode and my other windows are on desktop 1. Otherwise, Spaces works fine.

I checked my keybindings and this also only appears to happen when WoW is the activated window.

This is gonna be annoying as hell since I usually keep AIM, iTunes and Safari open on desktop 1. :-(

Well, i was hoping airport issues would be resolved by now and playing around with 10.5.5 so far has been the worse yet.I am so sick from this:(

!!!@#$ :apple:

ok my wife's mini has the least on it - taking the plung on that machine first.....

*Edit - Front Row 13.1mb
10.5.5. 136 mb
*Edit 30 minute download, but I have ADSL and that estimate is dropping fast, in fact it is down fluctuating between 12 and 18 minutes as I type

ok double restarted.

Haven't really tried anything yet.

For those who are saying the resolution appears to have changed..... It appears to be? The dock icons looks crisper and the text seems to stand out more, when rolling over them. Not sure if this was the case earlier, but it looks like the have a black shadow on the text, and the text for the Macintoch HD and Timr Machine Backups. they seem to leap out more. Wall paper seems to be crisper too. the mini has a 5 year old KDS monitor hooked to it.

Maybe will update my macbook later. I need to get a good backup first.

OSX v10.5.5 : NEW Permissions Problems!

I just upgraded to OSX v10.5.5 (the 'right way' using a standalone installer from a restart into 'Safe mode.') Now I have problems with 'Disk Permissions' reported from Apple's Disk Utility.

ACL found but not expected on "private/var/root/Library/Preferences".

Group differs on "private/etc/cups", should be 0, group is 26.
Permissions differ on "private/var/spool/cups/cache/rss", should be drwxr-xr-x, they are drwxrwxr-x.

I have repeatedly run the "Repair Permissions" routine, but the errors persistently appear. :-(

Oh great. New problems.

I noticed it too and thought I was the only one that had that.

having just spotchecked a couple pages of comments, seems like comments are trending negative or revealing nothing noticeably changed. since i'm not having any problems with the ol MB, i think i'll be waiting on the sidelines of this one. no need to tempt fate!!

Took 6 minutes to download, 7 minutes to install, went without a problem. Whew.

PS: Before, I would have to auto correct my external monitor using the "Auto" button on my monitor, I haven't had to do that yet :)

Me to, sucks
I used to always get

Group differs on "private/etc/cups", should be 0, group is 26.

Now I get 2 more, after 10.5.5

Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/OwnerGroupTool" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Warning: SUID file "usr/bin/lppasswd" has been modified and will not be repaired.

:confused::(:eek:

Crud

Damn it! My PowerBook G4, Macbook, and Macbook Pro all updated successfully. My iMac was in the process of being updated when its screen saver started, froze the computer and then that lovely message telling me I had to shut down my computer. I turned the iMac off and restarted and got the ominous folder with a question mark. Thank the stars I backed up before I updated. I'm in a pissy mood now.

downloaded it immediately! No problems so far. Apple karma has been on my side so far in my mac life. Aside from the first week of transferring over from the dark side (PC), I have had no real problems .......(insert knock on wood here)!

Well I downloaded it, started to run the installer and then at a certain point of installation it just stopped... it basically stood idle for about an hour and then I force quit the entire thing....

It restarted twice and it is now 10.5.5, with no Blu-Ray support and I still have popping sounds in my external speakers on my Santa Rosa MBP...

I'm sure something broke since I had to force the computer to power down....

We'll see...

Use the Standalone 10.5.5 Combo Installer to fix these problems. I had the same issue way back when we went from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 and the combo installer appears to fix it. :D

Perfect, as always. 3 machines updated: My G5 Powermac dual 2.0, My wife's Macbook Pro, and my daughter's Macbook. Everything went well, no problems at all so far and everyone has used their machines for 2 hours now.:D

It's not like the old days when updates seemed to matter. These updates nowadays provide incremental advances so tiny I see no difference. Still get a little thrill when I see one available, but it's a little of a downer once I update. I guess I'm just waiting for Snow Leopard.

I was just thinking the same thing. I remember back in the day when every update brought major improvements.

Can I still use the combo installer for 10.5.5, if I'm already at 10.5.5
Wont the installer say I'm already at 10.5.5 and I don't need this update.

This is weird! Since the update to 10.5.5, my 16GB Touch isn't syncing properly with iTunes 8:

- sync shows on the Touch and it mounts OK in iTunes
- I get the 'syncing iPod' in iTunes
- then the syncing stops completely after a few secs of the beachball
- BUT the sync icon is still spinning next to the iPod icon in iTunes
- and my Touch stops syncing and goes back to its desktop...

I can transfer music to and delete it from my Touch but iTunes no longer wants to sync contacts, calendars, apps. etc.

Anyone else getting this? Any suggestions?

FWIW, everything was working swimmingly with iTunes 8 *before* I upgraded to 10.5.5

Hmm, I just connected my 16GB 2.1 iPod Touch to iTunes 8 on my MacBook Pro (10.5.5) and the only odd thing that I found is that when I connected it, it didn't automatically start syncing like it normally does. But I just pressed the "Sync" button in the bottom right and it went into backup, and then synced the calendar/apps etc like normal.

So I just updated my Macbook software, this is my first macbook and first time i updated it

and now im stuck on this screen

CIMG1230.jpg

it seems as if its loading, i am able to move the mouse around and the blue loading bar is flickering, but for the past hour, the blue bar hasnt gone any further

is this normal? if not what should i do
