iCal Calendar disappeared after installing 10.5.5

I installed the update and restarted. Just opened my calendar and all my events are gone. Thankfully I had backed it up before installation.

Beware!

let software update download it and install it , only for the install to fail because it said it can't verify the contents of the 10.5.5 download, please contact the manufacter of the download.....

going to try and manually download it....

Something is definitely broken on your system, all the punctuation and capitilization is disappearing.

Downloaded and installed, and I can happily report that this update fixed at least one problem with the nVidia drivers that was introduced in 10.5.3. 10.5.3 removed the drivers for the 256 color mode, for nVidia chipsets. This broke Diablo II as it would kick into 256 color mode to display the startup animations. 10.5.5 returned 256 color mode, but made it so it is not user selectable. Fine by me, Diablo II now launches without me having to revert to the 10.5.2 drivers first.

Huzzah!

Amazing...now I don't have to go to my G4 to play Diablo.

w00t for awesome old games (I still have a fully-working NES btw).

Do you actually use it, or is that conjecture?

I do use it. The idea is great but the execution is extremely poor. Servers don't always update/sync information correctly, iCal events glitch, iPhoto web galleries "disappear", Back-to-my-Mac doesn't always work depending on your network. It's just a long list of little issues. Basically MobileMe (formerly .Mac) doesn't do what it's made out to do. It's a good thing I don't pay for it, I have 2 years free, won't be subscribing unless issues are fixed.

I had to verify and repair permissions, then reboot!

A couple of hours after installing the update, my wired keyboard and wireless MM would not respond. I tried using the wired MM and still no response. I had to pull the plug from the UPS, then things were working again, so I immediately verified and repaired permissions (a lot of errors in the list), then rebooted. Will see if this fixed my troubles. Stay tuned....

Did you mean UBS? I'm sure UPS would be most unhappy about this.

No difference for me

I didn't notice any major changes. When I ran the repair disk permissions after the update it found some stuff with USB so I'm not sure what that was all about. I haven't noticed any other major changes. No big changes in speed or anything like that.

I think he/she means USB...

My update was the 'patch' and took just 2 minutes to download on an 8mbps ADSL connection. Pretty sweet (for me)!

Always feels good after updating especially after reading the long list of security fixes.:D

I don't have an iPhone, I don't use Time Machine, I rarely use Spotlight... Why should I bother?

Ah, maybe because it includes security fixes as well as general fixes. If you don't upgrade to 10.5.5 - you have no right to complain about reliability or issues with MacOS X.

Downloaded and installed!
Everything is running great and it seems Spore's framerate is smoother now!
I'm really happy with the update so far!

I'm hoping that as Apple claimed they have fixed the problem of Intel Macs turning themselves on randomly during the day. It's annoying going to work and seeing 100 Macs in 5 different rooms turning themselves on for no actual reason at exactly the same time, despite having no auto power on settings.

No support for new machines is part of the update. Nothing in CoreTypes.bundle at least.

Doesn't seem any different to me. Hopefully it won't bog down if I leave it on overnight.
