I just noticed another cosmetic change. The system service external access symbol was an arrow in Ventura 13.2, in the menu bar, then it changed to a blue dot in 13.3, next to the control center icon, and now it's back as a tiny arrow next to the control center of Ventura 13.4. It is less noticeable as was the blue dot, almost invisible! These changes feel like random experimentation.

Weird...
I had the "optimising your mac" alert for the first time.
Thankfully it went away in 5 minutes.

So Apple is dropping support for all of their Intel Macs? Mine is only three years old.
It'll happen but not now.

That said, I can imagine macOS 15 being the first apple silicon only OS.

I'm not that much of a power user on my iPhone, therefore I'm mostly interested in macOS updates.

And, like with every release, i hopelessly wish they'd fix the core functionality instead of adding a gazillion new features.

This was driving me insane! Hope it’s fixed now. 🤞
Love the mac, always been loyal to the mac, to the point I have one that's half as powerful as a similarly priced PC...
But I can't stand all the wireless issues with it, especially bluetooth.
Had the same problems on pretty much all the macs I owned.

The magic keyboard getting disconnected...
The magic mouse getting disconnected...
The airpods pro getting disconnected...
(however this one to a lesser degree).

I hope the recent bluetooth 5.3 equipped models improved the situation.

Agreed. What I end up having to do is disconnect a device that I am not using and it works. But, I paid a ton of coin for a Mac Studio Ultra, you would think they could get this to work.

So I timed how long it took to be able to start typing my password with the keyboard after startup, before the update it was ~11 seconds, now it's ~6 seconds. So an improvement but still could be quicker! This is on an m1 mini and touchID keyboard.

- Fixes a Bluetooth issue where keyboards connect slowly to Mac after restarting
This snagged me more than a few times when I would type my password but didn't realize the keyboard hadn't connected.

It fixed the blank icon in preview for third party apps like PDF Expert & IINA!!!🥳
It also fixed when an app had a closed window but it was open, when I closed an other app, it popped up!

The problem with stacked photos in iMessage.app when previewed; remains.
The Eject buttons for external disks in Finder.app are misplaced; remains.

The Favorites Bar in Mail.app needs to be tested further to see if it switches off after restart/logoff.

Bugs from 13.0

Finally my monitor issues seem to have been resolved. Previous update fixed the blank screen after waking from sleep. Only problem is my refresh rate would be reset to 30 Hertz. With the latest update that issue seems to have been fixed as well.

Also fixed my issue with YouTube not being able to go fullscreen in Safari. Working like a charm now. Well done Apple.

Wonder if it has got to do with the external drive somehow. It shold work of course, but sounds like something is a miss if it also happened with the 13.3 update. Can you start into macOS Recovery?
We weren't able to start in het recovery mode. We have erased the SSD, reinstalled 13.4 and imported the data from Time Machine. We lost a lot of time because TM wouldn't import the last data, only these from two days ago.

Did not fix FCP Audio Units scan!!!!

I haven’t run the software for over a month and I can’t believe Apple is letting this bug fester in the wild for over a month without an update or a fix or anything… The lack of pro support is terrible. They just don’t care.

I WAS relieved to see that 13.4 had my M1 Mac making non-generic icons for my Fuji X-t5 RAW files after almost 6 months!! BUT then Photos simply ignores "Use RAW as Original" when selected.
Turns out NEW additions to Photos work properly – everything loaded in the last 6 months, while still able to export referenced RAW, cannot use as original unless I reload them, aaarrrgh!
