That's a valid point. I was just telling another forum member, maybe in six weeks we will know more. Until then, we can only can speculate. And we will truly never know why Apple has not released a refreshed line up. I personally think they will continue to push the iPad Pro and Mac Air line up, at least for the time being.
Yes, we'll find out soon if they plan to release anything based on current technology.
In an industry where PC manufacturers update their system specs and prices as frequently as monthly in many cases, it's always been hard to justify the "new" Mac price that was updated only annually.
It felt like a rip off buying an Apple system that was unchanged from the offering 8 months prior, yet still at its original price.
But now with some Apple systems going 3+ years without an update, and still priced as if it was the latest thing, it's a total joke.
It would be better for Apple to adopt an evolutionary strategy like other companies. Where systems grow with new advances as the technology becomes available. Maybe this months system is a little faster than last months system and has a couple new features.
Apples way is release one configuration, and don't change it or its price no matter what, until they are ready to replace it suddenly. So today you get a 3 year old system at the Apple dealer as your only option, and perhaps tomorrow you find that the same price gets you a new computer.
It's like a time warp. There is no middle. There is only 3 years ago, and today.
For those who dared to check out non fruit named companies, we watched technology evolve despite fruit going stale.
