I'm not sure what determines UPS vs Fedex but both my customized MBA have been via FedEx to the Northeast.Reading this thread has me really nervous about UPS and ordering custom now. I hope it doesn’t get lost in Shanghai. Lol
My package is in similar situation, just a little bit later: departed from facility in Louisville KY on 12/5 at 6:01 am with scheduled delivery 12/7. Let us hope that both packages make it on Monday.
UPS also failed to make it to my place. My package has returned to In Transit as well, but still shows scheduled for 12/5 by 9pm as of now. My package never got "out for delivery today". I guess it has been sitting in my local UPS hub all day and will be there for the rest of the weekend. Hope it will be delivered on Monday.
Edit: status changed to preparing for delivery and scheduled delivery changed to information unavailable.

This is so odd. Lots of people here have UPS tracking #s. I have a FedEx tracking # instead. Is that odd?
Both FedEx and UPS are just swamped with packages to deliver. Many factors for this:
- COVID-19 and the rise of internet shopping
- the holiday season
- both companies are unable to ramp up their usual hiring spree in order to meet demand because of COVID-19, hence why many packages are left being undelivered on their target date and are instead delayed by 1 business day.
Here's the thing. Shanghai is 17 hours ahead of Anchorage due to the International Date Line and time zones. It is currently 10:54PM on Saturday here, 3:54PM on Sunday there. So you actually have to subtract 17 hours from all of the Shanghai times to understand the path the shipment actually took. Most websites don't account for time zones, you get strange things like that when Apple ships stuff from China. It's actually worse for those of us living in Alaska, because the packages go from China to Anchorage and then to Louisville to clear customs. Only after that does the product come back to Anchorage for delivery. I named my iPhone 6S "TARDIS" because of a similar FedEx tracking situation.
My 16gb/512 was just pushed forward from 22 December to... tomorrow! 15 days earlier than expected. I'm not complaining!

I ordered a MBP 16GB/1TB on 11/22 with an original delivery window 12/08-12/15 so their should be some movements in my order anytime soon.
Until this morning no movement or any notice from apple except the order confirmation.
Now I refreshed my order statuts (webpage as well as in the APP) and My order disappeared completely. Did anybody experience the same? Does anybody has an explanation?
I also try to find the order number on the page and just got a error massage.
I’m kinda panicking that my order was canceled.
No mails or any notifications yet.

Anyone that was part of the Shanghai/Anchorage confusion still unclear as to where their shipment is? My last scan was the 2020-12-01 9:33 PM 'In Transit' scan from Anchorage. I have no subsequent scans, yet it still shows delivery scheduled for tomorrow.
Same here. West Coast US and last scan is departing Anchorage on 12/1 at 9:33pm. Was starting to think I was the only one left. I have a feeling we won’t be getting it tomorrow
Apple’s original estimate for me was this coming week. Once shipped my MacMini disappeared into the overseas Custom release process for 3 days. Then emerged in Alaska. From there tracking worked well.
There were lots of changes in the delivery date throughout the entire shipping process. In the end Apple’s first estimate held to be true. I don’t know if this was chance or divination
I’ve had my desktop set up with cables already stung out and accessories positioned. Back up wired keyboard and mouse in case BT doesn’t play nice.In the meantime I’ve got my fingers crossed for everyone whose orders have shipped.
