We had Swine Flu (H1N1) 10 years ago, which by the way was way worse, but it was not an election year and could not be politicized. And swine flu also came from China, noticing a trend? The current iMac took weeks to get, Battery Gate caused massive delays in getting iPhones, Bend Gate created delays while Apple tried to fix what they would not admit was wrong. When they finally did they promoted it as a S**t Happens, deal with it. Air Pod delays, Ear bud delays, the first iPad was almost two months out, the revised (current) iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 were a standing joke from even the tech reviewers in their attempts to get their hands on them. So, yes, very much so.

Where do you get the data that swine flu was way worse than COVID-19? The US CDC estimates shown in the link below put total deaths from swine flu, even with a high estimate, at less than a third of the currently accepted COVID-19 deaths in the world.

I got Express shipping, but still now my package says it won't get here until 12/07. :( I finally got a scan that it departed from Louisville this morning at 4:07 AM.

UPS doesn’t deliver on Sundays except for the most expensive of services. Since it’s already late afternoon Saturday, 12/7 is a safe bet. Hang in there, I’m in the same boat as you waiting until Monday.

One of my two 16gb/1tb MBAs that was ordered 11/12 has now been bumped to 12/30-1/7.
Incidentally if you order the same config today you’d have the same ship date as me who ordered 3 weeks ago.
As a supply chain analyst myself it’s inconceivable to me that Apple couldn’t or didn’t forecast better than this. With orders getting bumped at the 11th hour, orders shipping not in the order received etc.
Apparently their ship by dates are pulled out of thin air. Somebody should invent some sort of device that can do complicated maths and computations. Imagine the demand for such a thing.

Pardon my venting. My disappointment is my fault for expecting more I suppose.

My other 16gb/1tb machine ordered 12/13 still shows a ship date of 12/1-12/8 but I assume that will change in the next day or so.
We have the same config MBA ordered on the same date with the same original delivery window and NOW the same extended delivery window. I had the same supply chain gripe this morning chatting with an Apple rep....

I think UPS will definitely miss mine. It's still being processed at UPS facility and the estimated window closes within less than 1 hr.
I'm waiting still, hope they will knock my door before the end of the day.

EDIT: UPS updated my window to "by 9:00 PM"

My MBP was delivered today. All told:

11/11 Ordered MBP 16/256
11/20 Shipped; 11/27 listed as original delivery date; stuck in Shanghai due to Covid issues
12/01 Flew to Anchorage, customs, delay likely due to system volume; 12/07 listed as new delivery date
12/04 Flew to Louisville KY, the main UPS hub for US East coast
12/05 Flew or drove from KY to regional center in NY city area, delivered later that day

I hope everyone on here gets their machines (relatively) quickly, and that they are happy with them.

Not sure why we are having such discussion here, but I read that swine flu has a higher death rate per case. It’s counter intuitive. But the fact that covid has lower death rate that it’s able to spread much wider and cause more deaths in the process. A dead or immobilized person can’t spread virus after all.

Can you send a pic of your tracking? I’m in the same area as you and my mac left KY earlier than yours did. Im still waiting on local arrival after departing from KY.

Delivered at 3:00 today. interesting it came with Mac OS Big Sur 11.0.1 while my parents came with 11.0, both same MBA M1 basic model. I thought all m1 where shipping with 11.0 and would have to upgrade to 11.0.1 but I guess not.

I’m guessing you’re also in Memphis now? Gotta imagine we’re getting these before the 10th!
Mine left Memphis about 90 min ago so I'm guessing Monday for me. You looked about 1 day after me so maybe you're in luck for Tues!

Yay...just saw that my delivery status with DHL has finally changed after 5 days of no movement:

There were no shipping status events between "picked up" from the Apple manufacturer and clearance in Australia; I had expected a "departure scan" when it was loaded onto the aircraft.

So if you are "stuck in Shenzhen" don't despair :)

My 16/512 Mini still stuck in Hong Kong.

For those of you that got out of "Processing", did you get an email or notification from Apple when it switched to "Preparing to ship"? I'm just wondering how much of my life I'm wasting refreshing the page.

I got no email notification for my mac mini when it went out of processing and no email notification when my MBP 16/1TB when from dec 4-10 delivery to january 7-14. I found out by checking the iOS app. Oh well at least the mini is on the way but they must have some issues getting 1TB SSD's not sure. There are worse things but it's a bit annoying to find out last minute.

Thanks - guess I'll keep checking.

I ordered the MacBook Air 16/1TB on the 17th, and Apple is still optimistically showing arrival between Dec 3rd and Dec 10th.

The thing is, I used a business account that I rarely use, and I sometimes have issues with that credit card. Fingers crossed on all fronts. :)

Good Luck! Hope if works out for you. My MacBook Pro was ordered on Nov 12th, the mac mini on the 27th.
