Got this weird scan update (see below). Doesn’t make sense with the Louisville scan being the most recent as that already happened...

Also, does UPS call prior to making a delivery? I live in a condo and just woke up but I woke up to three missed calls from ‘No Caller ID’.

My parents MBA went out for delivery yesterday but was never delivered and if you look at fedex tracking it still says out for delivery but now instead of a date and time just shows pending. What to do? Wait a few days and see if they deliver again?
This has happened to me a few times recently with FedEx. My understanding is that drivers have limits on how long they can be on the job in a day. Thus if they are given too many packages, they may not be able to finish all deliveries. Usually the package arrives the next business day.

Finally my M1 MBP 16GB/2TB shipped. Looks like it’s coming via fedex and it’s currently in Shanghai. FedEx has no clue when it’ll be delivered. I was really hoping it’ll be here before the weekend but I guess my hopes are dashed. I’m on the US west coast (San Jose, CA). Any of you good folks have any clue as to when I should expect it?
Macbook Air and Macbook Pro (M1) are the wildcard. If you ordered the 8Gb models when they were first available and orders were pedestrian (or below Apple's forecast), you'd have already received it. As soon as the positive reviews from MKBHD, TTL Rene Ritchie, iJustinee (she loves everything Mac irrespective of any short comings), and MaxTech started landing orders skyrocketed. I felt bad for TTL for about an 1/8th of a second for his first reviews, because he stepped in it (as I did with my dancing around actually ordering the MacMini), but when he got his hands on one and started bench marking it he realized he stepped in it, and openly admitted he did. I think Marques was sincere when he did the pro v anti of himself critiquing the Apple reveal as being overly vague. Now even Marques has fallen into the YES, BUY IT CAMP.

Most of my tech friends have ordered the loaded M1 Pro with 16Gb and 2Tb, all of them are on hold until either the day before Christmas, or the first week of Jan.

FedEx and their sub carriers (TBA) are the worst on the planet. FedEx also no longer guarantees deliveries and has fallen upon the mythological Covid monster sword, which is as cowardly as possible, because there is no accountability.

My favorite review, and I'm not a fanboy, but if I knew nothing about the new M1 Macbook's I'd buy either from this review.

I love MaxTech's reviews and comparison tests - they test all kinds of workloads and the comparison to the old 13" Pros had me sold.

I know I'm super late to the party, but I ordered a MBA 16GB/515GB on 12/1. At the time of the order it said it would ship in 2 weeks and arrive by 12/24. I'm pissed all Apple stores here in Orlando had pickup unavailable, but Best Buy has no stock issues (but no option for 16GB RAM though). Just wondering if anyone else out there ordered that same day. Any updates on your end? Do you think we'll get delayed further?

So this is fun!

Yesterday the delivery date of my MBP13" M1 1TB pushed back from approx Dec 5-10th to Jan 6th-10th. Then this morning I receive a notice and email that it was in a shipped state. Visiting UPS only the label has been created it would appear. About all I can do is have a bit of a laugh who knows where this schroedingers M1 really is.

Same setup...BTO 16/1TB MBP SG....I saw the pushed delivery date to January the other day on my order status page...then...today got a email confirming the new delivery time frame in January...was down in the dumps...then got an email with FedEx tracking that says it is currently in TN and will be in NJ Tuesday...what a roller coaster....but what fun this order tracking always is

I have the same scans as you. Weird to see it back in Louisville when it was getting closer to me.

my parents mba basic model and my mba basic model are both out for delivery today guess they didn’t decide to wait till Monday 😀 ordered on 11/22

That is great news! I made it to Louisville KY and have a departure scan from there 13 hours ago, but nothing after that. Fingers crossed mine continues to make progress but nothing so far in this process gives me optimism. I am in the NY/NJ/CT area so plenty of airports and flights
Mine is headed to the same place. I have a departure scan from 12/05 at 12:48 AM but still no arrival scan. Could they be doing ground the rest of the way for us? Keep me updated if you get another scan.

I was tracking the UPS truck location using the "Follow My Delivery" link and I saw the truck in my neighborhood and get very close to my street, but then I refreshed the page and now the truck's location is at the UPS facility/distribution center which is much further away. Looks like for some reason they thought the package was on the morning truck and they gave me that truck's tracking info, but actually it wasn't on that truck and it's going to be on the next one? Looks like I'm not getting it in the morning then, going to be an afternoon delivery.

Update: Truck Location moved back to my neighborhood! Maybe the truck's GPS transponder went offline or something.

Guess I am the only #ShanghaiGang that still has no tracking after 12/01 9:33 PM Anchorage... :(
That's really weird. We should have been all on the same pallet to Louisville - I believe they only split it up for local destinations at Louisville. Have hope, and look for Anchorage to SDF and SDF to local flights. I don't think it would hurt to give UPS a call either. Do you have a 12/7 "Scheduled Delivery" date? There's a good chance they're holding yours last minute to get it to you on Monday.

#ShanghaiGang

Out of delivery!! They do delivery on the weekend. Woohoo!

(Original delivery date: 2020/12/7)
Hmm. It's interesting that you have "Your Driver is Arriving Soon!" where I have "Out for Delivery Today", and your latest update is "Loaded on Delivery Vehicle" where mine is "Out For Delivery Today". Does that mean that mine isn't actuallly on a truck yet, just that it's going to arrive today?

Still shows Monday the 7th as scheduled delivery.

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and my maxed out MBP has the same dates. I guess that’s when apple has scheduled to make everyone’s maxed out models.

NO, UPS won't call ahead, but in most cases you can arrange to have it delivered to the rental/mgmt office (unless your specific signature is required). I've seen this on a couple occasions. Only (as memory serves) I had a package come from NC, so when I tracked it to Atlanta I was pretty sure it would go direct from ATL to SLC, and would only be a day or two out. I tracked it again the next day and it had been to Jacksonville and was currently in Miami "waiting to be shipped" or whatever the term was. The next day it was back in ATL, but shipped that day from ATL. It arrived at 2 am the next day in West Valley UT, but must have missed the load out for that day. The next day it said the UPS tracking number was either lost or misrouted. When I got on the phone to find out what was going on and where it might be the doorbell rang and it was UPS with my package?
You can also go onto the UPS site, create an account, and modify delivery instructions. At that point you can pay $7.99 (currently) to have it left at a UPS store, or your business. I've tried it twice and both times it was still left on my doorstep even though a signature was required, so in my experience it is all miss, and UPS won't refund the $7.99 if you get your package.
