Closing the loop on my timeline for my MBP 16GB/1TB:
  • Purchased on January 8, expected delivery date February 2-9
  • Moved to Preparing for Shipment January 21, expected delivery date February 1st
  • Shipped January 22, revised expected delivery date January 28 after it cleared customs
  • Delivered to me in Denver, CO January 25
Hope this helps anyone who is purchasing and is antsy. I imagine the wait times will get shorter and shorter as the supply chain catches up.

Glad to hear they’re coming sooner than expected. I ordered the same configuration on January 4th but it hasn’t shipped yet. Hopefully soon...

Somewhere, around the Pacific, a load of MacBooks yearn for the latest Big Sur update.

ETA hasn’t changed from 2/3, but I’m keeping the hope alive.

For anyone in Europe waiting for their new toy coming from Shanghai via UPS and that are as geeky as me, keep an eye on flight UPS11 (5X11) as that’s the route that brings the units from the factory to Germany. Flightaware or Flightradar24 are good websites/apps.

Still nothing more here. Still showing preparing to ship.
UPS can't track the order no now if I put today's date in either :)
It's all a bit odd again.

Well, delivery of my MBA has been delayed again - this time due to Brexit!!! Which is just a load of BS as the parcel has come from China, which last time I checked wasn’t part of the EU or had anything to do with Brexit. I’m guessing they are using this as a catch all excuse for parcels delayed in processing at the entry to the UK. Very annoying. Almost wish my parcel was coming by DHL - yup, you can’t track it until it reaches Europe but at least they then fast track it by air through Europe unlike DHL who now (unlike in previous years) road transport it throughout Europe. Unimpressed I am!!

Perhaps some missing paperwork. Though they should have that all sorted by now.
Yes, all things together this has not been a pleasant experience for me at all (and it's not finished yet!). Quite disappointing to be honest. You expect better from Apple.
It's been pretty shoddy.

Yesterday I had my shipment, finally. But the biggest surprise was this morning as I had the tracking info: the shipment is from Holland, not China. I live in Italy, so in 3 days maximum I'll go for the MacBook Air 8/16/1Tb. It replaces my ipad pro, who was not able to have a real use as a laptop. It should be light, not too noisy, with a good battery: does Apple create the new MBA for me?? ;-D

I know things are tricky in the world right now, but using Brexit as an excuse for a parcel coming from China that electronically cleared customs before even setting off, just feels like something they've pulled off the random of wheel of excuses. To be fair to Apple, they shipped the unit much earlier than initially stated, it's their delivery partner that has let them down, but that is on Apple. Fingers crossed for delivery tomorrow now - have tweeted UPS but yet to hear back!

Lol, mine's just been updated.
According to Apple it arrives 29th January (surely no chance of that) It's currently in the air from Shanghai to Europe somewhere :)
UPS seem to think delivery might be 4th Feb. I suspect that's more likely.
Good news :)

Apple estimated my delivery much earlier than UPS ever said it would arrive... In normal times, I'd have said there was a chance for the 29th but based on my experience with delays at every stop, the 4th does seem more likely. Fingers crossed.

At least I've got my new MBA's serial number now ?
It starts with C0 like my current 2012 rMBP

Is it normal to be billed a week out from estimated delivery to ??? (Still sitting in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong) When does warranty start?

Common question: Apple will usually actually charge your credit card when they ship it. So that answers the first question.

And the second: The free, standard, one-year AppleCare plan starts on the day you purchased the device from Apple, which is the invoice date.

But sadly my MBA 8/16/512 SG will take another week....patience

Sounds about right I'd say.
Not sure about the warranty but I'd imagine it's when you get it. Maybe somebody could correct that or affirm.

Seven months is a long time to wait! Did a turtle carry it from Louisville to Minneapolis?

I sympathise :)
Mine's been "In transit" for about 32 hours now. No idea where to or where from. No scans at all since.
It must be on its second trip around the world :)
Same thing happened to mine - but then weirdly when it left Cologne, a further tracking point appeared that wasn't there before to show what time it landed in Cologne! Fingers crossed for a scan soon.

Mine is now out for delivery today after several delays due to operational reasons and Brexit... Will spend most of the day looking out the window at work for the UPS van!
