Nice! Mines still in customs but that gives me hope it’ll come out today. Enjoy!
I certainly will, thanks! I'm all prepared and waiting for that puppy to arrive and put it into DFU mode, drop the IPSW on Apple Configurator 2, and be ready to go 15 minutes later.

Excellent news :)

They do seem to move around the network a bit quicker once they leave Stanford... Hopefully UPS don't keep you waiting too long today.
Indeed! It arrived at 12-45 :)
It arrived with 11.1 and wanted to update it to 11.2 straight away.
In the 10 minutes I'd had it the apple mouse disconnected twice so I thought why not update it :)
I ran the update and immediately got a beach ball for about 10 seconds but it's been fine since.
So far so good :)

Woot! Finally delivered at 11:51 this morning. Now to update using DFU and then setup and figure it all out while playing. Later I'll decide what I want to do next before proceeding with migrate, copy or TM.

This slab O aluminium was frosty - It started up with nary a problem, but I patiently gave the screen some time to acclimate first.

Enjoy your silicone Mac's journey, and patience. All in all, it took 4 weeks short a day. Apple said 4 weeks, UPS delivered one day earlier, even with the circuitous unconventional route.

Has an update via DFU been recommended?

Update via DFU?
I ran the 11.2 update normally and it was slowish but ran ok.

I did a DFU because its so fast - updates firmware, recovery and reinstalls macOS - and in this case, the newly released 11.2 version. I was done literally 12 minutes later, with the entire process. So moving forward, it's like a factory restored machine (but with all the current updates). Now I know the starting state. You can still go the tried and true method of setting it up, and then applying the updates and reboots etc. So this seemed cleaner and faster for me. Cheers and enjoy!

Good to know, thanks! Off to Google how to DFU these now…

Just as I suspected.. delivered without being out for delivery lol. Definitely some sorcery afoot at UPS.

Yes, as has been eluded to many times before, if you do the UPS website tracking update, and select to e-mail yourself and update for just the one delivery, it will e-mail a more detailed progress, showing the out for delivery time stamps.

Enjoy your new beast!
