Mine finally left China. Coming via Fedex with scheduled delivery of this Friday! I have a 13 macbook pro with 512/16. Ordered about an hour and a half after the event.

Sorry if this has already been answered. Will the 16GB RAM versions of these MacBooks NEVER be available in stores because they're considered custom?

I'm on the fence about just picking up a 8GB version in store instead of waiting till December (4-11) for a 16GB to be shipped. Thoughts?
considering the same thing. Waiting until Christmas would be crazy

Anyone else still stuck on "Rescheduled delivery"? I ordered a couple hours after the keynote, and people are getting similar machines (Mac mini 16GB/1TB) way earlier... original ETA on UPS before this happened was Friday, Nov 20.

SHIP UPDATE QUESTION:

All of a sudden without Apple notifying me, FEDEX just alerted me of a shipment from Rialto, CA.

Apple says it's still "Processing".

FEDEX says delivery 11/19 from: Apple GEODIS (800) 692-7753 in Rialto, CA.

Where did this M1 Mac come from - no tracking from China?

It's as if it was already in the US.

Anyone ?

Maybe they realized they were screwing you over again and decided to send you one of the stocked items?

Apple was probably like, "oh yeah, we effed up her iPhone order and she returned it and we lost out on her financing the item" let's make sure we send this item to her ASAP. SKIP CHINA SHIPPING!

(I'm mostly kidding of course). What was your initial delivery date?

FedEx, huh? This is all kinds of strange.

Ordered 1.5 hours after the event, MBP SG 16/512GB to Germany.

No movement since around 1.5 days. Shipped by UPS which are the only ones not delivering on Saturdays, so projected date is the 23rd. Still hoping for Friday instead ?

I was thinking the same as you!

Since they messed up on the iPhone 12 launch, they probably knew from the ship to address that this time they better hold up to their delivery estimate...

Order placed on 11/11 and delivery was supposed to be 11/19 which seems to be true now.

Yes, strange it's FED-EX from local Southern California and not UPS from China.

Seems like the MBP 16/1TB is in stock at a local Apple Store for pickup.
Should I cancel at go for pickup instead?

I'd say yes if it's the spec you wanted but if it's just to get it earlier it's a lot of money to spend on extra storage you didn't need just to get it earlier.

It’s finally here in Edmonton! My HomePod mini order also came with it. Btw this is my first custom Mac and my first MBA coming from two generations of MBP. Cheers to everyone in this forum who shared their order experiences. To those still waiting for theirs, it’s worth the wait!

If Macbooks are supposed to last a long time, then might as well get the specs up for future-proofing. At least that's what I think.

Update 11/18: 13" MacBook Pro SG 16/256 still on processing with no update on shipping date. Ordered November 11th. I think the supply of the 16/256 MBP specifically might be limited, as people on this thread with 16/512 who ordered after me and had original quoted delivery dates of December have had their MacBooks shipped. That's unfortunate, and watching the reviews, benchmarks, and performance tests that came out yesterday have not helped my patience!

Congrats to everyone who has received their new rig. Sadly my SG Pro 16/512, which I ordered right after the event, has been sitting with UPS in Shanghai for two days and now the tracker just updated to say it will be delivered on the 24th (next Tuesday), after saying it would come on the 20th (this Friday) for the last couple days. The wait continues!
