Apple Silicon MacBook Air/Pro Mac mini Order Status Thread

Was tempted to cancel last night and pick up locally, but the only Mac Minis available for in store pickup were the basic 8 gig models.

Woke up this morning to see status changed to preparing for shipping. (Ordered 16gig/256 model on morning of November 11. Originally scheduled for Dec 4 - Dec 11.)

So that's good news. I'm assuming with Thanksgiving next week, the shipping schedule might get a bit whacked.

Well, mine supposedly shipped on Monday, and I checked this morning, and its still sitting in shanghai. My shipping looked very similar to yours until there was another at local fedex facility in Shanghai. Can they get this thing moving for crying out loud? Are they maybe following apple and holding it so it doesn't get to me until next Tuesday? Because fedex says pending still, but if you go to shipment facts, it says estimated November 20 this Friday. Have you gotten yours yet?
 
My MBA 8-core 16GB/1TB is out for delivery here in Atlantic Canada!

After seeing benchmarks yesterday, I'm somewhat wondering about picking up a base model instead since the 7-core doesn't seem to be too far off and I could save a few hundred dollars. Anyone with the base model want to comment on its performance so far?

I keep refreshing tracking praying mine shows a new scan. Last time I seen someone pray to the Apple gods and their prayers were answered, i think i'll give that a go haha
 
Anyone else's who's shipping via fedex stuck in shanghai? Mine's been stuck there for the last 3 days. It shipped monday and it says pending delivery date, however, under shipment facts, it says it could be November 20, but on apple it said November 24.
 
SHIP UPDATE QUESTION:

All of a sudden without Apple notifying me, FEDEX just alerted me of a shipment from Rialto, CA.

Apple says it's still "Processing".

FEDEX says delivery 11/19 from: Apple GEODIS (800) 692-7753 in Rialto, CA.

Where did this M1 Mac come from - no tracking from China?

It's as if it was already in the US.

Anyone ?

I had the same thing from UPS, it's shipping from Rialto to Alberta, Canada

My shipment is also in Shanghai for the last 1.5 days, had 2 different 'At local FedEx facility' scans. My guess is they're just waiting behind the queue to go on a plane with the massive amount of shipments for thanksgiving.

Same 😞. Do you think our packages are out for delivery but UPS hasn’t updated yet? I am thinking of picking up one from my Apple Store and return this mac once it’s here.

Got ours yesterday, an upgrade from the 2013 Mac Air. Base config, with 8GB memory. Holy maloly, what a great little machine! Have said it before and been wrong but it feels like I won't need another laptop for at least 10 years.

Since the nearest Apple Store for me is 2 hours away I'm not considering a in-store pickup. Likely wouldn't be able to get the same configuration as the one I bought.

Interestingly, the 16/1TB configuration seems to be getting stocked in stores here in US Southeast even though other 16GB RAM configs are not.

I understand not wanting to do a 4-5 hour round-trip though.

I'm really hoping that's the case. I'll give it a few more hours. For Apple Store, I know we have to reserve up to a certain hour to secure a slot today, else we'll be stuck with pickup for tomorrow. :(

UPDATE: UPS guy just knocked on my door after sending the reply!!! So, the scan is not updated. And hoping you get yours soon!!!

If your desired config is available in-store it'd likely be substantially faster. Easy enough to check on Apple.com - and stock seems to change daily.

Don't try to swap the existing order though; just place a new order for store pickup and once that's confirmed as available, cancel the delivery order.

I was just about to ask if anyone else had a stop in Incheon! My original delivery date was Nov 24 - Nov 27. It changed to Nov 20 a few days ago on UPS, then back to Nov 23 yesterday afternoon. 😑 Three days in Shanghai, 26 hours of no movement, now in Korea for the last 12 hours. I ordered right after the Apple event. Ugh.
 
Sorry if this has already been answered. Will the 16GB RAM versions of these MacBooks NEVER be available in stores because they're considered custom?

I'm on the fence about just picking up a 8GB version in store instead of waiting till December (4-11) for a 16GB to be shipped. Thoughts?

I guess our pilots were hung over and couldn't make the trip out.

I've heard people say they have 16gb models in the Apple store but I think they come with a minimum 1TB ssd
