@neworbit99 the 5am flight from Louisville to my destination city landed 3 hours ago, no destination scan or indication of it being out for delivery yet. For those who have already received their shipments, how long does it usually take between landing at the destination city and being delivered?
I love the optimism but I feel like there is no chance of an international package going through multiple stops, customs, etc. and not having any tracking check ins. Could they have left China and be in the US without anything at all on tracking?

I highly doubt it. Could UPS have lost my package? If it departed Shanghai (which is what "in transit" would indicate), how can it go 48 hours without landing and importing somewhere? It had to go through US customs too, which would definitely include a scan. UPS assures that if your package has been stuck on "in transit" for over a day, you will still get it on your "scheduled delivery date," but currently, my UPS shipment shows no scheduled delivery date, it just says "check back later." If I don't get it today, that means I'll probably get it Dec 1. If they've had it for two days, why would it not leave Shanghai yet? There's definitely enough demand from Shanghai to the US to fill up a plane.

If they lost yours, they lost mine as well. It will be also ridiculous to lose a whole batch of thousand-dollar worth computers. And yes, 48hr without update is also ridiculous.

We are waiting now for about full 3 days for UPS to move on our packages from Hong Kong to Cologne (main UPS Europe hub). There haven't been any tracking updates. So I guess it is normal at the moment.

We are just disappointed about UPS, as not update tracking made the tracking itself useless and meaningless.

Update: The last UPS81 flight from Shanghai to Anchorage was on 11/20 at 9:58 PM CST (Chinese Standard Time, local). My first "In Transit" update from Shanghai was at 11/20 9:56 PM Shanghai Time (that was 11/19 here in the US). I assumed that this meant that it would probably be leaving on the 9:58PM UPS81, but it's entirely possible that it could have missed that flight - there's probably more than 2 minutes between a scan and flight departure, think about when you scan your boarding pass vs when the plane actually takes off. Since then, I've had one more "in transit" update on the same day in China (Friday 11/20) at 11:23 PM. It's definitely possible @Gnattu @neworbit99 that our laptops could have missed UPS81 on the 20th. There will be another UPS81 departure today at 9:49 AM CST (it is already the 22nd in Shanghai), which is roughly 8 hours from now. We should keep an eye out for a departure scan before/around that time. If there's no update, UPS' tracking is broken or they lost our packages. If there is an update, they're on UPS81, and then the flight tracking process begins.

It'll arrive in Alaska just past midnight on Sunday the 22nd (in the US), where it'll go through customs, and it could probably depart on UPS 71 for Lousville, which is scheduled to take off just 20 minutes after the flight from China arrives - unlikely it'll make it if it goes through customs in Alaska. If not, it'll probably sit there for a day and wait for one of the later flights, which FlightAware won't let me find, as they're too far ahead.

I don't know if this helps anyone, but switch to the UPS app if you've only been tracking on the UPS website. I got so much more information.
Yeah, I've been using the UPS app for a while, and still not enough updates within a 48hr period. The UPS website absolutely sucks, however.

Yeah my tracking status changed today to shipped but the estimated delivery date didn’t change on the Apple Store app. But the UPS app shows it wil be delivered on Wed 25th.

This is for a CTO Mac Mini M1 with16gb RAM/1TB ordered on 12 Nov from UK.

My M1 MBP 13" ordered night of event arrived yesterday afternoon. Two days prior, I picked up the M1 MB Air at the store. After playing with both of them, I have to say the Mackbook Air definitely is the favorite. Function keys are more functional than touch bar for quick volume adjustment and screen brightness (both of which I use a lot). The touchpad also actually feels nicer on the Air. The Pro's touchpad is larger, but it also sounds like it has more space underneath, making a louder hollow click (vs a sturdier firm click on the Air, a very minor detail).

Performance wise I have not noticed a single difference for what I've been doing, which is websurfing and some code compiling. They both run pretty much identically, which is what I predicted from all the video reviews. I'll be returning the Pro next week and keeping the Air!

Remember neither of the trackpads actually move, so you can adjust the “click” in the settings :)

Both of them had the same "Click settings," so the sound and feel is most likely affected by the differences in builds / body. Just had a preference for the Air, personally.

This is what I see all day, when i go to bed and shut my eyes I see it and when I wake up I see it. It follows me everywhere.
I see we have two distinct gangs forming here. Eindhoven gang and Shanghai gang. The UPS Shanghai status haunts me. It's always nagging at the back of my head. I refresh impulsively - it makes it hard for me to focus, even though I know that I'll either have it delivered today or that there won't be an update until 7:30.

@Gnattu @neworbit99 FlightAware Update!

1606001171214.png

It looks like UPS has scheduled a UPS81 flight on a 747-8 (the same aircraft type and flight number flying from Shanghai to Anchorage) at 1:11AM AKST. This is probably the exact same plane that flies in to Alaska from Shanghai. I think it's completely possible (and very likely) that our packages don't even leave the plane in Anchorage, and that the plane just fuels up, changes crew, and turns around in 45 minutes. This could mean that our laptops would be in Louisville by tomorrow morning!

I wish I could know that i'd have an update for certain. I heard BTO can take 5 days before you see movement but from reading previous threads I've seen people wait longer which is just making me even more anxious.

I know i'll go watch some more YouTube reviews while I wait to make it even more unbearable ?

Oh, if that's true, that would explain why there is no scanning.

Well if it left Shanghai on Thursday, it would not explain why there is no scanning - there would have definitely been a scan in Louisville by now. If it didn't leave Shanghai, that would be the explanation for why it hasn't scanned - it hasn't moved!

My MacBook Air 16GB, 2TB SSD arrived today! Originally it said that it would be there 11/27-12/3. Once it shipped it stated 11/23 but FedEx delivered it today and boy am I loving it. Good luck to everyone else waiting.
Why did you go Air over Pro?
