Just ordered a base Mac mini M1. Will use it to get acclimated to the brave new Big Sur world, using my sandisk extreme ssd as my main storage device until the next gen of Mx MacBooks arrive, to replace my 2014 MBA. What a steal of a deal for only around $700. Thanks to the many helpful youtubers, I’m positive that 8gb RAM will do me just fine. What a time to be buying AAPL products.

UPS could certainly contract it out to another cargo carrier, but I would think landing a UPS plane there to load up is a fairly low risk operation from a COVID standpoint. The issue could be in the warehouse which is locked down. If UPS doesn't have their own employees on the ground to sort the warehouse, I doubt they would let Air China Cargo rummage through there on their own.
About this: the infected employees exposed to COVID via a cargo container(Unit load device), that container was wet inside, and the virus just stayed inside that container.

Count me in. Mine was shipped on 11/20 and have been stuck in Shanghai since then. The latest update was yesterday and says it is delayed in transit. UPS customer service in US does not seem to have any useful information about the situation. Probably should call UPS China to see if they have better idea.
I called them, and the staff on phone knows nothing more than I do either. I don't think the customer support department could have access to what's going on in Shanghai.

I don't see any upcoming flights from UPS going out of Shanghai anytime soon or within this week. It's really frustrating that there isn't even any type of update. Are we going to get it even this week or next?
I've got some info that future packages will be forwarded to Shenzhen's UPS facility for eastern China. But I'm really curious when our packages will be handled. The warehouse was locked down on 11/20, and was not opened as of 11/22.

Keep hope alive, I ordered on 11/10 a MPB, M1, 16GB Ram, 512GB and it was scheduled for the week of 11/23-11/27, it was delivered 5 days ago on 11/20.

@Gnattu @neworbit99 @mooshhie @ElBerserko @rtsaws #ShanghaiGang:

I think there's solid evidence to bet Air China is filling in for UPS. This is the history log for Air China flight CCA8411, which usually flies between Xiamen, Jinan, and Shenyang. This is not a regularly-scheduled service between PVG and ANC. It's scheduled to depart in about 2 hours.

CCA1077, which takes off in just 10 minutes, is a brand new flight number created for cargo service between PVG, ANC, and JFK. It has no flight history before today whatsoever.

CA1077 is not brand new, it is just not having active flight since March, I paid for sort of subscription and I can see that.

I'm not having any hope for now.
Scheduled for delivery on 11/27 and still in Shanghai 11/25.
I'm prepared for Christmas arrival already.

My MBP arrived in the UK (where I live) from Germany yesterday, and today I see that it's gone back to Germany! Absolutely fuming as it's was shipped on the 17th and it won't be here tomorrow

To be fair, mine showed in Shanghai 2 days before, then it took an overnight that it was in the states, then the next day out for delivery.

Anyone know what this UPS message means? I got 2 e-mails over the last day form UPS with subject "UPS Exception Notification" stating that the package status had changed, and the tracking history changed, but without any location information.

Could the reference to "non-UPS broker" be something to do with the reported use of Air China to send UPS packages due to UPS staff in Shanghai being unable to work due to some workers testing Covid positive?

I still don't know where the package is! And delivery date estimate of 27 Nov has now disappeared with a notice to check back later.

The situation is very different in Shanghai right now. If you departed Shanghai on or before November 20th, you were fine. Anything after that and you are stuck in limbo.

Hi everyone,

If anyone ordered any M1 Macs and want to share your order status, post below!

I live in Canada, purchased base M1 MacBook Pro + 16 GB of RAM, and comes in November 25-27th.

Order is still processing.

Anyone else?
After a lot of back and forth, I ordered the Mac Mini to replace my 2018 i3, I also ordered the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The pro max was supposed to be delivered today, but this morning I got a message saying there were major production issues, the phone was not yet shipped, and would now not be shipped until Dec 9-16th. I called and cancelled.
The Mac Mini has been on order since the 17th and says it will ship Dec 17th-24th. This morning I also got an update that said it will now ship between the 16th and the 23rd. When I called and spoke with the good folks at Apple (and got an English speaking person the 3rd time), she said they had major production failures at the main facility in China, and are working 24/7 to get production back up, and orders filled as soon as possible. The interesting thing is that I had a UPS tracking number for the phone that was due to arrive today, and tracked the shipment to Seattle as late as yesterday (11/24/2020), which is contrary to what the lady told me. She informed me there were a block of us who ordered phones and laptops that were hit by the production outage.

I'll wait on the Mac Mini as I've already sold my i3, but with all of the screen and battery issues on the iPhone 12 Pro Max I'm going to go ahead and order the Samsung S20 Note Ultra.

You did not have the same situation we had now.
We have covid positive staff, locked down warehouse and cancelled flights.
If everything is normal I should've get my computer already.

I'd love to hear how many others are in my shoes?

I called UPS customer service in China and gave them my tracking number. Their information is a bit different - they told me the package is in Suzhou (Google says it's about 1.5 hr drive to Shanghai) instead of Shanghai, which we see on UPS website. They are waiting for PVG to open up. I don't know how credible this information is. They also said our packages won't be routed to Shenzhen because the information has already been entered into the system. It looks like we can only wait. My origin scan was 2:39pm 11/20.

Yeah, I said future packages, not ours, sorry not been clear enough.
It's normal to have warehouse located in a different city, but we have to wait for sure.

Yeah, I understand - I was wondering whether our packages could possibly be routed to Shenzhen since UPS probably can still access them, so I asked the customer service. I was actually a bit surprised when they told me the package was in Suzhou. I ordered a Lenovo back in 2018 around the same time frame and the tracking logs specifically said the package was accepted in Kunshan and then routed to Shanghai. So this time when the tracking logs say it is in Shanghai, I thought it was physically in Shanghai.

Most of these postings are not encouraging that whatever delivery date promised will not be on time:(

Ordered a Space Gray 16gb Ram 1tb (shipping is 2-3 weeks faster) yesterday 11/24 and delivery is currently 12/10-12/17.

Hoping it comes sooner since I already sold my 2018 MacBook Pro.

@Fomalhaut @neworbit99 @mooshhie @ElBerserko @captchas8 Shanghai Gang:
Looks like the decision to suspend operation in PVG is made by UPS themselves, not the airport.
I had two official announcements(Chinese) from UPS and FedEx, both have positive staff, but they are having different reaction.

In the announcement made by FedEx, they said they will "continue the flights and operation in PVG, with some adjustments". UPS said that before resume operation, they are doing thoroughly cleaning for the workspace and discuss with affected employees.
