MBP 16 GB/2 TB finally shipped. Originally scheduled to be delivered 11/27-12/7. Here’s my timeline for those interested:

11/11: ordered in the morning
11/19: card was charged
11/23: moved from processing to preparing to ship
11/24: got a text from FedEx saying my package has been picked up, no scheduled delivery date yet
11/25: moved to shipped, apple’s delivery date is 12/7 and FedEx still not showing an official delivery date yet

My Pro 16/256 moved to preparing to ship now after being charged 2 days ago. Still shows as 12/9-12/16 estimated delivery as it did the day I ordered it. Will see if that changes once it is in transit.

I have seen many using UPS My Choice to check the progress of their shipment

how do I do that? I'm not given any tracking code by Apple

Still waiting for MBP 16GB/1TB. Ordered right after event, destination is Germany, still shows "processing" :-( Estimated in mail: Nov. 25 - Dec. 3, on apple.com it says Dec. 3rd.

Just went to "Preparing to Ship" today. Arrives Dec 4 - Dec 11. Mac mini 16GB/1TB.

Ordered a 13in MBP M1 16GB/2TB on Nov 11 and remained “Processing” until yesterday when it shifted to “Preparing to Ship”, and now this morning is showing as “Shipped”. Got a text message from Apple saying it’ll arrive by Dec 7, an email from Apple saying it’ll arrive between Nov 27-Dec 4, and looking up the FedEx tracking info shows delivery this Friday the 27th.. soooo.. yeah

Ahh, yes, you're also in Shanghai Gang. We have been tracking to see if there are any scheduled UPS flights out of Shanghai, as a COVID outbreak at the PVG airport cargo terminal caused them to lock the airport down and cancel flights. UPS cancelled all their flights, as the first case was in their facility we're waiting for UPS to resume operations again. FedEx has already resumed operations after cancelling.
@Fomalhaut @Gnattu @neworbit99 @mooshhie @ElBerserko @captchas8

I don't see any upcoming flights from UPS going out of Shanghai anytime soon or within this week. It's really frustrating that there isn't even any type of update. Are we going to get it even this week or next?

There hasn't been a single UPS flight in or out of Shanghai in 5 days. There has got to be more to the COVID outbreak than what we are hearing. With 4 confirmed COVID cases traced to UPS, I wouldn't be surprised if the government shut them down. I hope I am wrong, but it might be weeks before there is movement.

The backlog at the Shanghai hub also means they probably aren't accepting any additional shipments from Apple at this time so it is going go create downstream delays for those stuck in Processing or Preparing to Ship.

Mac Mini order placed on the morning 11th was "shipped" on the 19th. After being cleared.... It was stuck in Hong Kong since the 19th.

Today (four days later) I finally see an "update" of the tracking information on UPS this morning.. but not sure if item is actually moving in system.

Originally displayed a delivery of day early (Wednesday), but now pushed back to Apple's original delivery date of Friday 11/27/2020.

*Sigh*

Update: Finally cleared customs... so that's good.

UPS just dropped off the 16gig/256 Mac mini... yay!

Ordered on the morning of Nov 11th with estimated date of Dec 4-11.
Shipped on November 19th.
Received today 11/25/2020.
So a week "early"!

Can't wait to set it up!

Good luck everyone!

As unlikely as it is, I did notice that there are quite a few Air China Cargo flights leaving for Anchorage. I know UPS has used them as a charter carrier in the past. (Iphone 12 pro launch shipments were Air China Cargo). So maybe they have rerouted some of them to keep things moving while the UPS stuff is sorted out.

Count me in. Mine was shipped on 11/20 and have been stuck in Shanghai since then. The latest update was yesterday and says it is delayed in transit. UPS customer service in US does not seem to have any useful information about the situation. Probably should call UPS China to see if they have better idea.

I think that UPS chartering on Air China Cargo is quite likely, because UPS would lose a lot of revenue and block up their entire logistics chain if they had to shut down flights for more than a week. I think there usually aren't this many Air China Cargo flights to Anchorage, so the increase might be due to UPS. I might be wrong, however.

I ordered a Mac Mini base configuration last Saturday and it's supposed to arrive today, Nov 25 (should be within Canada). Now which is correct, Apple or UPS 😩

How are Macs shipped to Europe? I know that Eindhoven is the primary hub, but what airline do they use to get them there and are Macs shipped straight from China to the Netherlands?

This is exactly what I'm worried about. What would've been an update soon now will not be because further shipments aren't being accepted due to the issues over there.

I would think however that for orders in processing once ready Apple would just create the label through FedEx since the choice essentially hasn't been made yet.

just so frustrating. With a lot of the early preparing to ship statuses I've seen people get, I was expecting to see some kind of update. Even if it was only a charge on my bank account and nothing else for a few days I'd be happy. It's proof that SOMETHING would be happening soon. I hate this processing limbo. Today is the 11th day since I ordered.

I'm thinking of calling Apple customer service but I'm almost sure they have no info lol.
Same I ordered the 13 th November :(

UPS could certainly contract it out to another cargo carrier, but I would think landing a UPS plane there to load up is a fairly low risk operation from a COVID standpoint. The issue could be in the warehouse which is locked down. If UPS doesn't have their own employees on the ground to sort the warehouse, I doubt they would let Air China Cargo rummage through there on their own.

@Gnattu @neworbit99 @mooshhie @ElBerserko @rtsaws #ShanghaiGang:

I think there's solid evidence to bet Air China is filling in for UPS. This is the history log for Air China flight CCA8411, which usually flies between Xiamen, Jinan, and Shenyang. This is not a regularly-scheduled service between PVG and ANC. It's scheduled to depart in about 2 hours.

CCA1077, which takes off in just 10 minutes, is a brand new flight number created for cargo service between PVG, ANC, and JFK. It has no flight history before today whatsoever.

Landing a UPS plane and unloading it could be precisely what is banned, because the reports show that the two cases originated from package handlers who unloaded a shipment from North America. The reason UPS is probably stuck is employees - 4 of the cases were traced to UPS employees, so now they've quarantined everyone who was exposed to them in the UPS facility - which are mostly UPS employees. Air China Cargo most likely has a separate facility and their employees were not exposed, so they are able to process packages just fine. All UPS has to do is to get some confirmed negative person (who was never potentially exposed, as you have to quarantine for 14 days even if you test negative if you were exposed to someone who tested positive) to ship their packages across the airport from the UPS terminal to the Air China Cargo terminal. The Chinese government is also probably much more comfortable with letting Air China run flights, given that it's state-owned and they have much greater regulatory control.

Same I ordered the 13 th November :(
It won't do you any good. I called them 2 days ago, the bogus reason they gave me is 2-3 weeks "Because of the Thanks Giving Holiday Season". I ordered mine on the same date too.
