The first server I received looked physically new but was €779 as was this one. The only thing was the door underneath was stiff and felt a little misaligned but I could open with more than the usual force and it seemed fine.

Interesting to see this one.

I'm telling you they have that drone on me. See me head to the store for Christmas shopping... Bam! more on the refub store. LOL

LOL. Took me a quite a few tries to actually get mine. Got alerts while in line at the store, while driving, and other times I just wasn't quick enough.

Don't give up!

Just saw a bunch of notifications saying the base and quad-i7 models were back in stock.

Interestingly, they also have the Oct-2014 (current) models available as refurbs (likely for the first time).

Finally got my 2.3 Mini!

Weird of Apple to list these around midnight. Just saw an alert as I was going to bed.

Also, they have some 2014 refurbs now.

Yeah, plenty of server quad i7 2.3 and some 2014 models too. No 2.6 i7 though.

Just snagged a quad core 2.3 GHz i7 with 2TB and OXServer for $759 refurbished vs $899. This is my Xmas present!

Edit: 1 Hour later, the quads are gone. However B&H has them for $899.

just curious, do all refurbs ship from Ontario, CA? It's a LA suburb looks like. I figured I'd come from NorCal somewhere.

I received an alert for the regular 2.3 i7 this morning at around 2am but I was knocked out asleep! At around 7:15am the 2.3 i7 server one sold out of the refurb store.
I think I'm just going to skip the 2.6i7 instead of the 2.3 as I have yet to see it. Would I be missing out on much?

I'm new to the whole Mini thing, is there a hardware difference between a late 2012 "server" and a "regular"Mini?

The Mini "Server" comes with 2 disk drives installed and includes the Server App available for $20 from the App Store. The big advantage is both SATA drive cables are included and oem from Apple. Other than that ... not much difference.

I bought the server model at about 1am, jumped on the refurb site and they were there and I didn't hesitate. Pretty excited, it should be in my hands tomorrow

Thanks, that's what I suspected.

I bought a couple of i5's and just got an i7 server, modded the first i5 with an SSD and 2nd drive kit from ifixit, gave the 2nd i5 to son in law. Thinking of selling the 1st i5, and keeping the server, decisions, decisions.....

I'm very impressed with them, best build quality of any PC I've taken apart.
