Toting it to the car from my Apple Store was definitely a chore. I had to stop a few times along the way. And you are right - the box is heavy.Edited to add - the empty box weighs more than a small child.

No, I don't. Mine is whisper silent. Sounds to me like you have coil whine...Question for all owners : do you have a buzzing sound coming from your Apple Studio Display ?
Mine is making a very strident sound, like a electromagnetic interference or like the sound coming out from a charger when it’s broken.
It’s audible around 4-5m from one ear, particularly from the side of the display. It only happened when it’s displaying something and it’s defenitely not the fan (that I can hear but only when I’m putting my ears juste above to the display).
I think I saw someone else here mentionning this issue here but I’m wondering if it’s just a global problem on this display or just a lack of chance…
Looks like you have a defective unit. I had an LG OLED E6 for four years and have had an LG OLED GX over a year, and never did the picture settings (or any other setting) reset.
If you don't use the built-in apps, you won't see any ads either.
I don't have an LG OLED. I have a 75 inch Vizio Quantum. This is one reason I only use Apple TV. I assume you won't see ads if you do this even on a LG?You have a much older one. These "smart" features were added in later models. I have an 8 series, although they might have rolled out on the 7 series? The X should be having these issues. I know it happens because after an update the "soap opera" effect will return and I need to go into the settings and reset both the color and motion settings.
All you have to do is apply the software updates and these things get rolled out. I've heard if you simply never let it connect to the internet, or port block it, you can cut down on the ads. But there are important bug fixes that come with the software updates, so that's a mixed bag.
Newer LG tvs also are constantly analyzing what you are doing through image recognition, which is how they serve ads even if you're not using their tuner. I've had it actually show ads over something thats being piped in from a completely different external source because it's doing image recognition.
They'll also play ads in normal places like menus.

LG is cramming ads everywhere on its TVs — even the expensive OLEDs
TV manufacturers are cramming ads everywhere they can.www.theverge.com
Searching on the web suggests on LG TVs you can / could (as of December 2021) turn off ads. Unfortunately I don't have one so I can't confirm. And of course you can also just not connect the unit to the internet.
Anyway, this is veering off-topic. Sorry about that.
I just noticed mine has a buzzing sound coming from the top right of the display. It's really annoying, and, considering the price, I'm debating returning it. Apple usually does a better job of avoiding electronic noise and my office is awfully quiet. The monitor is way louder than my M1 iMac next to it!Question for all owners : do you have a buzzing sound coming from your Apple Studio Display ?

No. As I wrote, I have had a GX for over a year now, and it is connected to the internet all the time. I also update the firmware every time I'm prompted. I don't have any of those issues you mentioned. I'm pretty active in LG OLED forums and have never read of that happening regularily. You have a much older one. That is a very bold claim, bordering on paranoia. Do you have any proof to back that up?Newer LG tvs also are constantly analyzing what you are doing through image recognition, which is how they serve ads even if you're not using their tuner. Question: What is everyone's thoughts on the possibility of dust getting in between the glass and the LCD? The Apple Studio Display is ventilated by a fan, and dust will enter the chassis, just like it does in an iMac.
It used to be a common problem for the iMac, I had the screen of my iMac replaced due to "stain-gate", the lower corners of my 2015 5K iMack became stained by dust. After the replacement, in merely 9 months it developed the same problem and I sold it before it was too obvious.
My thoughts are ... that would suck. Hopefully they've learned to seal the space between the glass and the panel...I've had my 2017 iMac since Fall of that year, and no dust yet in 2022! We may get some further insight from the iFixit teardown.Question: What is everyone's thoughts on the possibility of dust getting in between the glass and the LCD? Exactly the same as mine was, only mine was in both corners. I can't help it but worry about this. For me this was the MAIN reason I sold my iMac. Can't imagine to buy an ASD and get the same issue. That concerns me as well. I have a late 2015 iMac and you can see it in my lower left screen blow, Almost like a cat paw print at this stage. It's on no other corner though. I've seen the videos on how to clean it, no thanks....

your wish is my command. Here you go:Not sure if this has been asked before, regards to YouTube HDR content.
Could someone has the Studio Display watch a HDR video on YouTube, and right click see stats for nerds, if the colour is BT 2020?
Thank you

Well, it was kind of sealed in the iMac too... with an adhesive tape, applied manually by who knows what worker that might have missed a spot... by a human error.Until iFixit posts a teardown, I think we'll find out whether or not it's sealed 🤔
Fingers crossed that it is 🤞
I think it depends more if the lcd panel is laminated to the actual glass or not.Well, it was kind of sealed in the iMac too... with an adhesive tape, applied manually by who knows what worker that might have missed a spot... by a human error.
Cheers, this made this monitor suddenly a lot more interesting.your wish is my command. Here you go:
I don’t have this monitor but I am aware of a similar issue with my iMac M1. With the IMac a buzzing sound happens when the display brightness is low. Maybe check if that buzzing sound is affected by the brightness?Question for all owners : do you have a buzzing sound coming from your Apple Studio Display ?
