I don't think you could answer that question because you'd likely find a group of people with totally different preferences anyway. You couldn't say if they bothered to learn about the opposition that they would undoubtedly suddenly think the iPhone is crap. You could of course have a situation where it only reinforces their original choice further, but that's equally as much of a guestimate. We can only wonder. If one takes that to its logical conclusion, one has to wonder; "If they were aware of what the opposition were doing", would they still stay with the iPhone?

I hadn't realised tapatalk notifications didn't push on Android. They do on iPhone but I wasn't a member here when I had a Samsung S3. Well said though, its nice to know there are others out there that just enjoy simplicity and the functionality of a device rather than competing to prove why one is better.I since owning and using iPhones through the iPhone 4 would call myself an android guy. After the I4 I went to a skinned version of android, and then to the nexus line. After using android for about 2 years I decided to see what the iPhone 5 had to offer. Had it for about 7 months and then got the note 2. Not long after the note 2 I got the nexus 4. I am now back to using my iPhone 5, and have a sim adaptor to use my nexus 4 too if I want.
I say all of this to say my views may have changed over the last serval months. After using the i5 I thought I would most likely never go back to iOS again. I dogged it pretty hard after I stopped using it. Then I realized just about a month ago iOS does what I use my phone most for better. I need push notification on my phone. Whether it be macrumors, Facebook, or any other app I depend on push notification for. iOS can handle them better. I say the because tapatalk on android does not offer push notification at all on android. One of the things I enjoy doing on my phone is talking on forums. It helps break up my work day. Not have info for when someone quotes you, or replies to your tread can be a pain in the butt. I am not saying android does not do push notification well. Just not on the apps I use. Which in these cases are not androids fault. I realize now my smartphone is more about what gets the things I do most done better. Right now the iPhone does that. I am not more about functioning for my needs then me being able to customize the home screens. iOS may be kind of boring, but it is working for me.
