Totally agree. Until the headset is something that you'd wear, say, on the beach, or at a football game, we need another way to record this kind of media. The headset looks great for consuming personal 3d media but not creating it. I'm glad it can but surely it won't be the only device with that capability.

If you can take videos and photos on your iPhone and relive them in 3d in the headset? Now you're talking about something amazing.
Don't think this would work... I would guess that the iPhone's cameras are too close to each other to capture proper 3D...

Will be good to capture 3D photos and videos. But wearing a headset to capture it will ruin the moment.
I could see using it outdoors to record scenery to reenjoy, if I were still working as a geologist taking geology/outcrop three D images would be quite useful but yeah not in personal family and friend moments no way

I think this makes the most sense for a situation where you were at an event or you have a dying parent that you want to see them and remember them in this moment on a level beyond just a photograph

Principally not different from 2d images. But far more immersive.
First movies in cinemas also shocked viewers by showing incoming trains and scared viewers were running out of cinemas (and that was without sound).
Imagine horror movies in these devices..
Add Apple's spatial sound.

Next thing will be electrods connected to nerves, which will allow for "real" touch, or physical feelings of objects touched..possibilities are endless.

All goes to Matrix reality

The first image of the dad wearing those and filming his kids is creepy...

I'd rather enjoy the moment in real-time OR quickly snap a pic with my phone (and tuck it away)...I think the trend should be less tech in our lives rather than the complete opposite. But obviously, Apple would know better than some random person like me.
I have a feeling we are going to have a moment of that. an almost backlash to over tech integration.

That's absurd. It will only "ruin the moment" if you want it to! What about all those who use video cameras, etc to record their child's birthday party. Does that ruin the moment? No one says you have to keep the headset on all the time during the event.

Havent you seen what goes on in the world. People no longer enjoy concerts they just record the whole thing when they are there. Ive done this myself where i just stare at the phone making sure im recording the artist correctly
Unfortunately I have seen it...But I've started to see peers starting to actively leave tech behind. Ironically, my Apple Watch always me to leave my phone behind.

while recording is ongoing, the headset's external display flashes with an animation that lets the people around you know that video is being recorded
With the recording indicator, no one will be able to use Vision Pro record video or take images in secret

Someone is going to put a strip of duct tape over the outer screen day 1

I want to believe..but...ugh.. such a disappointment. My first thought when they showed it was that it's the VR headgear equivalent of Lisa Simpsons braces...

Curious if they will have an Apple vision pro upgrade program like they do for phones? As soon as they announce an M3 processor with 8K displays , current owners will be looking to get rid of what they have and I’d pause wanting to purchase a used headset from eBay

I absolutely will be wearing this in public. Are you kidding? Its perfect for coffee shops and going to the park etc…. It allows me to be out in nature and do work if I need to.

Press had access to look not touch. A few media were given opportunities to try out. One reason for scarcity is that the software is probably not finished and debugged.
oh wow so true - I forgot about my parents clunky video recorders. "Capturing the moment" vs living the moment is something every generation has had to be cautious of.

Like this? Yup, my dad was one of these nerds.
