$3499 isn't starting anything. This isn't iPhone day one territory.
Intrigued - what would your use cases be compared to anything else that's been on the market for years? Is it the Ecosystem?I do. I wouldn’t mind purchasing this.
Nope, definitely not transparent. This is what the inside looks like. What? So it's actually NOT transparent? LOL... that $3,500 price tag is even more ridiculous.
$3,500 USD? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! You can't even make this up. At this point I'd say Apple doesn't even want to sell the product given the price.
Hey, at least their SSD modules are priced more fairly... $2,000 for 4TB while a WD Black 4TB costs $660. LOL. This company is a joke.
2 hours of battery life with a battery pack. Only Apple can get away with this in 2023.

Interestingly, the HoloLens also starts at $3,500. I wonder if that had some influence on Apple's pricing...or maybe they're competing with the HoloLens?
I believe it also will plug into a wall socketso you cannot even finish a Marvel movie on this thing
same here! watched presentation with whole family, all agreed we want it when it comes out👍Day 1 purchase for me. AR is exciting and I'm willing to be a first adopter of this tech. It will only improve going forward.
It's a standalone MR device with an Apple Ecosystem GUI. That's it.Albeit expensive, this is not just an AR/VR device, it's a brand new computer with a brand new experience. Heck, it can even be your own private movie theater inside your tiny NYC apartment, whose rent is past due because you spent the last $3500 on Vision Pro. Truly groundbreaking.
Everyone is working out resolutions for square/circular displays. Unless they said otherwise in the demo (I haven’t seen it yet) I’d assume they’d approximate the eye’s field of view, i.e. 3:2ish.The total pixel count cited by Apple amounts to less than 3400x3400 pixels per eye. That’s not bad, but certainly not good enough for “several giant virtual monitors”.
First Adopter of AR? You know it's been around for years in wearable and none wearable form as MR and XR?Day 1 purchase for me. AR is exciting and I'm willing to be a first adopter of this tech. It will only improve going forward.
It seems useless to jetsetters flying longer that 2 hours. The perfect marketing is to those flying long distances a lot. They can watch a movie or a tv show, and then do some work or browse social media - but at a battery pack of only 2 hours? Not gonna happen.
It's definitely expensive, but Apple is aiming high with the capabilities.Good response to @YayArea's outrage over the price. I was not expecting this product to be so good. Price is relative. But to disparage it because it's too expensive for some is simply absurd.
The thing is, at the distance you normally are to a monitor, it only fills part of your FOV. I think the Vision Pro will be comparable to a single 4K monitor at best. Of course you can move between monitors, but then you can similarly also switch workspaces on a single real monitor. In any case, when the Virtual Pro shows you multiple virtual monitors at once, in that view each of those monitors will only be rendered at FHD resolution or less. It simply won’t be the same as having an array of actual 4K monitors in front of you.Everyone is working out resolutions for square/circular displays. If it is 11.5MP per eye then that’d be about 4150x2770.
And, just as in real life you wouldn’t be looking at all of your giant monitors at the same time, my understanding would be that a landscape with several giant monitors can be kept in memory, allowing you to look around and see a portion of the landscape at any one time.
Confirmed during the WWDC 2023 keynote, though, was the detail glasses-wearers were hoping to hear. In a collaboration with lens-maker ZEISS — arguably best known for its camera glass — it was confirmed that Vision Pro would be compatible with Optical Inserts to suit those requiring vision correction. Each extra lens clings magnetically in place, Apple revealed, allowing them to be quickly removed should the headset need to be switched with someone who doesn't require eyeglasses themselves (or who doesn't share the same prescription).I think one model of the headset but the additional cost will be for people who need prescription lenses.
They are not. I have a Quest 2. Nothing I've tried (different straps, etc.) has made it comfortable for me to use more than maybe 20 minutes. Most of the discomfort comes from the battery weight. That's too bad because I was hoping it would work as a virtual desktop for some of my work.
seems there is a usb c connector to charge up battery, maybe connect it to power while sitting and watching a movie or gaming? or they will definitely sell the battery by itself so you have a full one ready to go for another 2 hours, just keep switching…not ideal but will work…obviously they will improve this as generations come…still getting it on day one, battery life doesn’t concern meI hope they do a bigger battery pack, I'd trade the size for being able to use this thing for more than 2 hours.
They will know by the cameras looking down. LOLWhat happens if Apple doesn't allow that? Finds a way to block it.
