I think it's looking like a good value big ticket item like a home computer.
How about you go and buy a 100" OLED screen and a fancy surround sound system and fancy TV remotes for your living room. IF you compare in this way, you'll see that these Vision Pro Apple goggles are replacing big TV screens and a whole lot more. So I'd argue it's a good value.
I have a vintage "Mac Portable" c1990 - it was like $8000 in c1990. Heavy like a briefcase.
Anyone back in that era then rocking a Mac IIfx or even a IIci had spent a LOT of money just to own a powerful Macintosh.
Look at the newly released Mac Pro today. Horsepower! Anyone want to talk about how much power and expandable their PC system is? I mean Apple is making some top quality produce here. YES, you gotta pay for it.
But I know from experience that too many people pooh-pooh pricey new Apple stuff mainly because they know they can't afford it right now.
This is not an innovation like AirPods that are pricey - but anyone can afford instantly if they really want them. AirPods noise cancellation etc makes them great for every person. These new Vision Pro headsets will first be bought up by the privileged and the dedicated Johnny Mnemonics out there. After you see what they can do, you'll get them in a few years.
The thing most people have already seemed to have missed is that the Vision Pro Goggles can capture 3D VR video - just by hitting the record button. This means that fans of family photo's and family videos will certainly be early adopters.
I can't wait to be reading on several giant virtual monitors. The resolution apparently is that good!
