Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

Totally, but knowing my luck they won't have it in stock.
The bands are sold separately now, even the series 7 ones.. so what if you were to purchase one today for in store pickup on Friday.. except you cancel that order when you get to store and exchange your watch purchase band for it.. know what I mean?

Got a 430pm departure scan From Shanghai. Looks like its flight ups109 to Japan. It’s a position flight that goes from Japan to anchorage, then to Louisville.
I didn't get that latest scan so I guess we are going to be on different flights.

Quick question, are we updating our current watches before we get our S7’s? Sorry if this has been answered. Just link me to it, please.
I wouldn’t. The watches from the factory won’t have the SW version Apple just released so it may cause extra work trying to upgrade. Especially because the headline release note was some fix for the AW3, it’s kind of a pointless update this close to a new device.

I got a different departure from Shanghai. It’s headed… somewhere.

Thank you. I better order the one in your link. All the adaptors I have in the house have regular USB bricks.
Just to be really clear, this year only the cable/puck comes in the box, and it’s now fast-charge. You need the plug-in wall adapter, and it needs to be at least 20w for fast charging.

9to5 Mac reported that Apple tested with an 18w adapter, but the info on the appl store page says 20w.

I did also but when we get the 7 how will the backup work when not on the same os
I wouldn’t worry about it. There will be no impact on restoring from a backup.
It’s no different to the iPhone 13. Apple released a software update just as our phones were shipping to us. Just set your watch up from your backup and then do the software update.

OK , thank you 👍🏻

I see that in the terms but, I have never had that applied to any post 30 day refund that I am aware of. Thanks for posting. I was unaware of that particular clause.
It's possible that the earlier page is a stale page that Apple didn't take down. For clarity, I'm not saying that is a fact in this case, only saying that it is possible. I have run into that a few times, which is super-odd for a big tech company. There are pages you can find with Google that are not as far as I could tell actually linked to any page that's currently on their store website.

Do Apple normally take the money in advance or when it’s time to ship? They’ve taken the money but it’s not set to arrive until next Thursday.
it’s fine either way I’m not complaining just wondering if there’s a chance it’s coming early.

Interesting to hear all this, I just assumed it would murder battery life and turned it straight off. Never even tried it.
Clearly I shouldn't just dismiss it - I'll try it from friday, and see what I think.
I have AOD on - I've found leaving Hey Siri on for always listening and the new sound detection killed my AW so those are turned off on my watch. :)

I’m guessing you’d pay the difference if you want a more expensive band/watch combo
Replying to self: looks like you have to return the watch and band then re-buy (is that a word?) the watch and new strap...there's another post that explains that something that comes from the "Your Style" section is bundled as a single SKU, so you (meaning me) probably can't break up the set, and if they don't have the watch you wanted in stock at the store, your choices are probably keep the watch with the strap you wanted to return/exchange, or return both but then basically go back to the end of the line waiting for the combination you wanted to become available. There's a good thread on this here.

I was wondering about the ability to return or exchange a strap that came as part of a watch/strap combo ordered under the "Your Style" section. In other words, a combination that's not on the store site as a regular configuration. (Example: the SS watches that are currently being sold for delivery on Friday with sport bands, which is not a regular configuration.)

It looks like if you purchased online (as we all did, that's the only way to purchase a watch before launch day) you probably won't be able to get the store to accept a "return" on the bundled band and exchange it for one you like better. But there's no penalty for asking. ;)

in the past, the band you ordered with your AW was stuck together and the band cannot be swapped out unless you returned the entire thing… i really hope they changed this policy
