Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

Totally normal. I have done a lot of Apple preorders over the years. I have seen no movement on a launch day preorder until Tuesday evening or even Wednesday morning, then all of a sudden rapid progress from China to Alaska to Kentucky to your local hub.

Don't worry. You'll get it on the day they quoted. Don't expect it early though. Apple makes certain that never happens.
This makes me feel better. The lack of any movement or even a credit card charge has been driving me nuts. When I preordered my iPhone last year I’m pretty sure I had activity by Sunday night.

Just confirmed with an apple rep that we can swap bands in store so I cancelled my Silver SS order and placed an ISPU order for a graphite SS. That graphite color does look gorgeous.

not feeling that abyss blue sport band though lol. Gonna swap it for a dark cherry loop.

@ r.d thanks for the heads up on this

@Boardiesboi any movement on that watch of yours? Any chance you’ll get it on launch day? Want to see plenty of photos, love the apple & Hermes partnership. 👌 not the price tag though. 🤦‍♂️😂

Please tell me you don’t buy the Hermes bands as well. 😳👇 they do look hot though. 🤦‍♂️

Mine's been preparing to ship since Sunday. If it's being sent from within Sydney, then I don't think it'll update until tomorrow. If sent from China, maybe later today?

Estimate is Oct 21 so I don't think I'll get it Friday... Maybe Monday or Tuesday if I'm lucky.

Yes I do buy Hermes bands, just not the deployment buckle because of the price and I don't find them very comfortable :D

Nice!!! Apple does tend to over deliver when It comes to their delivery dates.

Don’t say it’s already in Sydney, I said that once, then had to deal with @TheYayAreaLiving 😬😳😂

lol Apple must hate me. Preorder on Friday which I’ll return. Then order on Saturday and cancel that order. Now order tonight for ISPU on Friday

I swear I’m good now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Is it possible to swap out the bands in-store from pre-configured ones? e.g. I buy one with Sport Band but swap it out with Milanese loop.
Yes it is (see my post above yours). I confirmed this with an apple rep. That’s why I booked an ISPU for the graphite SS.

I had the option of launch day delivery or pickup for my 45mm SBTi. Went with the standard colored sport loop and chose launch day pick up.

I went for my wife’s Gold 41mm first thing as I got into the store at 5:01 and all combinations already said Nov 2nd and no stores around had them for pick up. It’s a surprise for her anyways so an extra week or two won’t matter.
Got it! It seems like a couple (very small number) of people did find gold stainless steel for Apple Watch Series 7 for some availability on launch day. I, like you, also got November 2-9, which is totally OK.

thanks for your insight!

I really like the Modern Buckle band, but currently, I'm only seeing it as an option in 41mm. Has that always been the case, or are they just out of the 45mm ones?
I’ve always loved the look of that band as well, but as far as I can remember it’s always been for the 38/40/41 models. Unfortunate really.

Anyone know how updating my current S4 to 8.0.1 will affect if I want to transfer watchOS from the S4 to the S7 on Friday. I could always set up as new, though.

I've had quirks in the past trying to restore iPhones when the new iPhone was on one dot release older, had to update new iPhone (set up as new) to update to the new OS dot release and then restore again from backup.
Good point , I didn't think about that while updating .

Everyone said the same when the s5 was about to first come out with AOD - everyone planned to turn it off right away, and nobody thought they would like it. Then their new watches came, they tried it, and most ended up liking it much better than just a black watch. Keep an open mind - you might feel the same.

Keeping an open mind for sure. I’ll try it out both scenarios. I feel like I’ve mastered the flick of the wrist haha.

From what I’ve read/haven’t read…it seems there isn’t a scenario for “If this then that”. For example, if I’m working out, have AOD on, but other instances off? I wish that were possible aside from manually toggling.

Kind of like the new Siri feature that can announce workout progress, but your watch can’t be on silent. Other apps can do it. But I guess that’s me being too picky.

I'd never not have AOD back on now. For me it was the absolute feature that made me get the S5 and it'll be very much on for the S7.
Interesting to hear all this, I just assumed it would murder battery life and turned it straight off. Never even tried it.
Clearly I shouldn't just dismiss it - I'll try it from friday, and see what I think.

I have to collect my watch from the Apple Store on Friday morning. When I went to order it last week I forgot to add trade-in for my Series 4 so I had to start again an the delivery time slipped to mid-November but pick up at the store was still available.

I chose a braided sport loop to go with it and Apple's own measuring on the app told me I should be a 7. But my partner did the same thing and when he went in store to pick it up, turns out it didn't fit. So I'm worried that my strap won't fit now.

Surely you can get the strap changed in store?

Got a 430pm departure scan From Shanghai. Looks like its flight ups109 to Japan. It’s a position flight that goes from Japan to anchorage, then to Louisville.
