Exactly the same with my S4. Also optimized charging enabled. My daughter’s S4 - from the launch day - is at 98% battery health (!!!) but she did not use it as much as moi. And mine is a few months newer than hers. My S4 will be my backup watch when I get the S7. Staying with Aluminum for the variety of color choices. My Al S4 is in pristine condition and I am not very forgiving with it - I also bump my watch into God-knows-what all the time. Still no scratches, without screen protector. So, no reasons for me to go to SS or Ti although I looove Ti from eyeglasses frames to jewelry, etc.
98% after three years? You sure about that? Sounds unlikely.

I’ve used Apple products exclusively for 32 years And would never spend my money on anything else. I’ve looked forward to an Apple Watch for years and will be ordering mine promptly at 8 am EST on Friday. I haven‘t decided on any feature yet except the 45 mm screen size And I will definitely buy Apple Care. As a senior I need all the screen space I can get! It might look a little large on a woman but I don’t care. I’m nervous about having it shipped because FedEx is the worst carrier on earth and I can take that chance so I’ll probably pick It up at the store. I live alone and the health features in this product make it a must have. Every senior should have one and Medicare should cover the cost. It would save them $$$ in the long run.
Indeed, they should cover it at least partially. I plan to use Apple watches in my senior years as well (what ever series will be available then).

Re: worst carrier, that means you do not have a lot of packages delivered by ups. They are the worst from my experience! Or maybe their professionalism varies by area. Ups are really bad in our area; they even “misplace” expensive orders and then I have to spend so much time on the phone with all kind of supervisors (also not professionals, no idea what they’re doing) to have my package delivered and maybe replaced the expensive item that was damaged with their “misplacement”. Ugh!!!

Actually I totally beleive it if the watch was not used much. I have a AW3 SS that had not been used for the past two years and actually never or should say seldom used it with the Workout app and I was shocked it was at 93%. I have a AW5 that is at 83% I find when I use the Workout App I burn through the battery. I use it daily for at least an hour. Since I never really use the AW3 for workouts the battery has remained in good shape and lasts longer.

I’ve learned you get most $ when you sell right before they officially announce new one. And yea I never expect too much it’s tech even though it’s a nice piece it’s still tech.
With that in mind I go into it knowing that. I looked at prices via Reddit, Facebook Market and some of the usual sale places. I never see more than 50%.
I maybe easier in that respect after 23 years managing sales for GM.(yea I’m older than dirt)
The market is based around the low tier pieces. Getting higher end models is no different than putting nice wheels on a car. You don’t get more on trade cause it’s expected to have 4 wheels on it. The investment into SS or Titanium is similar.
I wish it wasn’t.

I know all that still doesn’t mean I have to like it LOL.

I’ve been so used to the phones and other  products holding their values super well but with the watches it’s a whole other animal.

It’s like people low ball on phones but on the watch they balk at paying more than $200.

AW5 with the first always on display seem to have the poorest battery health by the users that are posting. 4 and 6 seem to be fine

I'm shocked that Apple *STILL* hasn't updated the website to allow better looks at the watches in different configurations with different bands. For example I'm strongly considering the Starlight aluminum 45mm but there are just a few shots of it total in the entire preview and some aren't the clearest or show it with even a band. I'm still hoping that at least by the night before there is something more... being able to configure and put something in a cart for quick checkout would be even better.

they are really teasing this release. oh well, we’ll see them soon enough. I read that the media embargo will be lifted next Tuesday morning so there should be some YouTube reviews of the units that were sent out to reviewers.

My S5 is still at 94% and I‘am a heavy user. Today I tracked 6 hours of workout. This is what I do at least 4 days a week. The other three days I track minimum 2 hours a day. I do sleep tracking every night. I use the AoD. I read at least 5 ecg‘s a week. My S5 sits on my wrist every second it is not on the charger. Usually I charge it fully before I got to sleep and then bring it back to 100% in the morning. So I really can’t share this poor battery health experience.

they are really teasing this release. The Apple site shows this collection of renders, half of which are cut in half for some reason. Come on, at least show the whole watch 🤪.

Can’t wait till Friday. This is probably going to be the most shadiest and sketchiest launch of Apple product in the history. Mark my words 😂

Atleast we were able to see the models and in-hands reviews, the announcements. With this Apple Watch, it’s like a dream.
From that point of view, yes. But then, we waited for so long to get them, like weeks, that in the end I ended up cancelling the 2 orders from Apple (they were supposed to be personalized) and got them from Best Buy. Hopefully, with S7 it will not happen the same.

This is the typical behavior of "Big Tech"! Once it grows to be the Gorilla, it starts to tease us relentlessly even at pre-launch! Consistently ignore user's emotion and anxiety and distress because of that! Not to mention those defected quality issue related to "Jelly butter" and "PWM"!!!

I hope by the end of today I will be able to favourite a watch on the app. I don’t really care if I have to get a certain band with it as I have a few from my other watches, I just want to get a specific finish so the band is just a bonus

Hi all! At this point there is 28 pages of discussion so excuse me if I am repeating a previous question...

Any reason why you can't browse the Series 7 watch selections on the Apple Store and pick one as a favorite for preorder day?

This is unusual a few days prior to a product launch and I am wondering if Apple is purposely making it more difficult to place an order due to low inventory.

Thoughts?

That’s what I’ve been wondering! I hope it will be published today so we can have some time to decide.

..... or maybe there wont be standard configs this time....... will just choose your case and any strap..... I think that would certainly make more sense logistically for Apple.

Call it a conspiracy theory if you want, but due to this oddness I am now convinced this isn't the Apple Watch Series 7 we were supposed to be receiving. Something bad must have really happened when mass-producing the true series 7 to force Apple into this last min rush job. And yes all signs do point to a rush job.. lack of renders available, lack of Apple Watch studio, no senior staff wearing the device, shot of the actual flat sided model left in the promo video. Everything screams weird.
