Innovation.

Most of us guessed this was coming last year, this is what they do now to keep the marketing going.

None if you are already happy with your Ultra. Congratulations for new watch, I am so jealous. I am still holding back to get one because it looks ridiculously huge on my wrist.
I always feel the same way about it. I guess people who own them if they’re Watch feels heavy when you’re moving around and some so yeah some say no they say it’s late. But the people I know are people who work out in the club and really strong. I’m strong And the ultra seems more awkward to use especially if I’m typing at my desk or cleaning etc.

I am athletic but by no means strong (if that makes any sense). Hardly notice the Ultra on my left wrist in terms of feel and after a few days I am sure you will hardly notice its weight (not its presence though ;) ).

As for the size, I have fairly small wrists but not overly so and it looks completely natural. Yes, the Ultra is a big watch, but you will be absolutely fine wearing it.

A smart watch that is not smart watch? I don't know. Maybe Apple can release a Sport Watch with battery that last several months, but that's not their core bossiness. They are computer company which means they put chip in their products. At least your have Garmin for that.
Have you seen the Fitbit Charge 5? That looks and functions a lot like a smartwatch to me. Just smaller and with more battery life. Only reason not to buy it is because it’s not syncing nicely with Apple Health. That’s why I’m hoping Apple makes something like that.

Apple will never do that. It would cannibalise its line up and give a suboptimal experience.

If a new product cannibalises the current lineup, doesn’t that mean it’s simply what people want? That seems like a good enough reason to do it.

Apple historically has not been very afraid to cannibalize its own lineup if they have a better (selling) product. (Mac Studio)

But I think a simpler watch with a longer battery life might be a good addition to the lineup, without cannibalising the rest of it.

All I can say is I would be a customer.

But we’ll never know until we see it. And you’re right, that might never happen.

What people say ask them.

What you are looking for and expecting is no not the norm. Honestly it seems like you would be happier with a fit bit. Everyone has different needs and wants, your unfortunately dont align with what the Apple Watch is aiming for which is ok, nothing wrong with that. I would say try something Android based but they also are not going in the direction you want.

The link below might be something you are interested in, it seems to have a 30 day battery life.

Hate me if you must but I will definitely be upgrading to the 2nd gen Ultra next month.. because u know, I’m totally worth it ✌🏼

This is VERY tempting but my wallet would hate me if I upgraded just for a color change since my Apple Watch Ultra is still doing great. Now if they added a new health sensor like blood pressure monitoring to go along with this new color then I could justify upgrading more.
