People put screen protectors on their watch?
Well I am hard on it, and I would break the ionglass or put large gashes in it over time so I started with putting a bumper on the watch which recessed the screen so it did take hard impacts on corners and that did the trick. I tried just a screen protector to help with impact but it wasn’t enough, though it did prevent scratches lol. I am excited apple has a watch that won’t need either and will tolerate my brutality!

My watch will get beat up no matter what. I like to work in the yard, tinker on projects and just love the outdoors so it’s going to look used in a year. I just hope the battery life is what they are advertising.

I am ok with the character of the watch developing a “used” look. just need it not to shatter. my galaxy watch held up with no needed protection through 1/2 of my HVAC career, when I went to the s3, it just wasn’t as tough and it disappointed me how it didn’t hold together for the price. But I loved the OS, so I wasn’t going back. I am a Nurse now, but I still work on cars, lift weights, and occasionally I slam my wrist against something when moving fast or if there is a CODE. I have no doubt it will hold up, but if I got an s8 I would get the spigen bumper ASAP, to prevent my clumsy self from shattering it, or get the stainless version with a sapphire crystal. I don’t plan on buying or breaking a watch for the next 4-5 years ha ha.

I use mine all time during codes, transports etc. never had any issues …knock on wood

Joining this late after being on the iPhone pre-order thread. 😂 I ordered Ultra with the starlight alpine loop. I’m in Shanghai 9/18 9:10am!

you know, I am just clumsy enough i would probably put a bumper on the stainless s8 just because of how the glass wraps the corners lol. -all the best

I just preordered the Ultra from Verizon this morning to be delivered on 9/23. I’ll use it along side my other watches, including my S6 Nike that I’ve decided to keep instead of trading it in.

I ordered the Orange Alpine Loop - Large. I hope the size is right. I measured my wrist twice and came up at 200mm. It seems wrong, though, because my wrists don’t look all that big.
Will the watch ship on the 23rd or arrive on the 23rd?

Ordered at the end of the day they were announced and got shipment notice it is moving and arriving on 9/23.
I just found one on Apple that had the 9/23 delivery date. I like the band, but I figure I can always get a different one if I don't like it.

Would prefer to get it sooner rather than wait on a specific band.
Apparently you can bring the band to the Apple store and switch it with another band(one of them that released with the ultra) according to an Apple specialist I spoke with at the store when I was picking up my silicon case for my 14.
This is what I’ll be doing with my ocean band. If it truly comes in a separate box

I work in a highly acidic/corrosive environment and I’ve already ruined a Series 4 & 5 so I have to have a case & screen protector. Been using em all year with my alum Series 7 and it’s still pristine under the case. Plus I now know how the Ultra will sit on my wrist.
