On the Wayfinder face, tap on the outer white ring to turn on real time compass mode.

So cool. I never saw this in the demo.

And since I left the compass as a complication, (will remove that one) I just gained one more complication.

The Ultra giveth and giveth.

Thanks for this... When I was setting up this watch face - I couldn't figure out how to make it do what it was showing in the watch face setup...

Got my Orange Alpine on.

LOVE the watch and new form factor…I’m still getting used to the Alpine though, haha!!

Had they been in stock, I would’ve got the black/grey Trail Loop (have one on order). We’ll see.

So I have to admit (upsettingly), the Alpine loop is absolute garbage. The watch itself is stunning, but I have absolutely no clue what Apple was thinking when they released this loop. Forget about the way it looks (personally I think it's ugly in real life) - because that is entirely opinion - but the usability of taking it off and on is just terrible.

I am praying that within 14 days they will release the trail loop watch in store and then I can order that and return this one.

FYI - the new royal blue Nike strap on the AWU is STUNNING (I realize the watch is not AWU below, but it's a pic of the strap).

‘The Trail band is the problem. There were backordered from the first day. An Ultra with an Alpine band will ship much quicker.

The Ultra with the orange alpine band would not ship with Apple until October 25- November 1st and that's with all the Alpine bands. I checked.

Orange look is beautiful, but not on an Alpine strap. Trust me, I spent 2 hours in the Apple store trying the AWU with EVERY major strap. Orange Alpine strap is actually not a good looking strap, nor is it functional. HOWEVER - it screams the message "hey look at me, I have the new AWU" better than any of the straps.

The orange flap on the trail loop is stunning as it matches the orange accents on the watch. That is what I want, but I absolutely love the new royal blue Nike strap. The 'Just Do It' logo is so nice and subtle - a proper sports strap for a proper sports watch.

I even went ahead and opened my never used Ceramic Sport band for this.

Here are some looks. All bands are 44/45mm. My wrist is 162mm.

But first, interesting things of note when it comes to the braided loop.
1. Lugs do not fill the slot (expected)
2. Sizing is EVER so slightly looser. For instance. I wear a 5 and over time it has loosened up a bit. And on the ultra it is just a tiny bit loose. So if you’re a cusper like me (4/5) you may be able to go down one size. But currently it works.

Excuse my destroyed black leather loop

Also… starlight band isn’t the most comfortable, and the hook has already hit the watch face 3 times. So be careful.

Yes! I love the pop of orange on the black/grey TL.

I just put on the midnight Ocean band and I love it. Way more comfortable than the Alpine. I’m ordering an Ultra with midnight Ocean for pickup and returning the Ultra with the orange Alpine.

Just got mine yesterday with the orange alpine strap, and really just blown away by the watch in person.

I'd ordered a trail loop on impulse as well but am reconsidering now as not sure if its worth that huge premium over the normal loops. Any thoughts on this are welcome!

Pretty disappointed that UPS failed to deliver the watch today. Been tracking it since it shipped from China and it got all the way to Goodyear, AZ and then just stopped. Hasn’t moved since yesterday evening at 10pm. First time ever that I didn’t get an Apple product delivered on the date specified. 😔

My Ultra arrived at 7:02 pm. Love it! Not as big I imagined and I really can’t tell the difference in weight from my stainless.

Anyone know how to get latitude and longitude on the new watch face working? I have it selected but it's not showing up at all

Tap the round bezel section on the wayfinder face and it becomes a compass ring. Along that ring is your lat/long.

I have the iMac G3 version, and I was really sad when I realized the Ultra wouldn't fit in it. Ended up getting the Belkin Boost Pro thing. It's nice, but I miss my little mac :/

When you say that the lugs don't fit, do you mean they aren't wide enough to be flush with the sides of the Ultra, or it is incompatible? From the pic, it looks like it doesn't curve with the body like it might with the smaller watches.

It’s 18:29 for me and I’m waiting for UPS to deliver. Your post gives me hope that UPS will still come through before the magic 7 pm delivery deadline.

At 7:10 pm I gave up waiting for UPS and went to take a shower. I was just about to step into the water when my phone popped up a message that UPS had delivered. Threw my clothes on in record time and collected the watch off the porch.

Doesn’t look big on my wrist when I look at the watch face, but looks tall when viewed from the side. I like the fit of the ocean band and think I’ll stay with it.

I tried the blue Nike on my S7. Very nice.

Nah, in the last when I’ve reached out to them they’ve been of very little help. Just wait to see what the tracker shows tomorrow.
