I wonder how many people did not realize this.

Or do most people just don't care for MS office?
I love Office 365, and I think Microsoft has been doing great work on it lately. I use the iWork apps for my personal stuff, but I use Office 365 for my job. I have to say--if my company stopped covering the cost, I would probably think very seriously about paying a subscription fee. I haven't liked any version of Windows since Windows 7, but I still think Office is the gold standard for productivity software.

I think im gonna do it. I shouldnt, but its just too tempting. How much did yall sell the 9.7 for? I have a 128gb wifi for reference

For selling comparisons for your 9.7 Pro, I would compare and refer to Swappa. They will have similar models to indicate what they are selling used for online.

I was tempted and i did the jump... For me it was a very good decision. I have to admit at this point, I don´t notice a big advantage in the performance towards the iPad Pro 9.7 with IOS 10... But it is really all about the screen, it just feels different. It is really a pleasure to look at the screen, even for hours... I don´t know if it ist the increase nits, the bigger resolution or promotion...But I really enjoy it.
There are also a few other benefits that make the device better in the every day use (especially TouchID2, the better camera (for making fotos of the graphics at whiteboards), the pen input, and the apple keyboard for the iPad). I do still use IOS10 and did not change to ios11 because I use the iPad for work. I have the microsoft office subscription, so the change to 10,5 did not mean an increase of license costs.
I am really happy with my decision and would recommend to any person with heavy use of the iPad and the enough amount of money to make the change.

I took a look at one today side by side with my 9.7". Initially it was difficult to see much of a different in screen size until i positioned one above another and then the 20% screen difference was obvious. Placed an order immediately.

20% doesn't sound like a significant difference. But it is when you compare it next to the 9.7 iPad Pro or older iPads with the bezels. It's just more sleek looking With the reduced bezels and more refined. The extra screen real estate and Promotion display are nice advantages.

I upgraded from the 9.7 to 10.5 and I am blown away at the difference.

10.5 is a perfect size in the same for factor. Everything has more room. And ProMotion and the brighter screen is totally legit.

I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase.

Do you all think iPad sales will go back up after the release of the iPad Pro 10.5 and 12.9 ?

Not sure if you only want to know about the 9.7 vs 10.5 but yes. I have been waiting for a larger tablet for awhile now and for the longest time I felt the 12.9 was just too massive. But then... the 10.5 came out and seeing as how that was now the standard size (9.7" fell away from quad speakers/pencil use, etc), it didn't look that much smaller than the 12.9. I actually got the 12.9 today.

Just bought a 9.7 in April thinking that new hardware wouldn't come out a WWDC - lost that bet! Wasn't tempted at first but after playing with one in the store was blown away by how much smoother and faster the pencil was. Can't get it until I can sell my current 9.7 - and that's proving difficult with so many of them in the market right now.

Not really. I usually upgrade every other iPad as it is. My interest this year is in the iMac lineup and potentially upgrading my 7 year old iMac.

9.7 Pro user here... I got tempted, and I caved.

Which is kind of a shame, because the 9.7 Pro is/was the best iPad I've ever used, and I use it for hours each day. I would like to justify the 10.5 by selling the 9.7 (I paid $525 for the 128GB WiFi model last summer), but the resale value is just terrible. I might as well keep it for a spare or family member rather than take a huge loss on it.

So far the 10.5 is great. Love the ProMotion!

I wasn’t going to but I caved and got the 10.5. Sold my 9.7” 128GB Cellular for $500 on Craigslist last night.

Resale value on iPad's have been terrible for a while. Learned my lesson with the iPad Pro 12.9. Usually plenty of deals to be had after 2 to 3 months.

My 9.7 is struggling on eBay at the moment. Still a couple of days left though. Might pickup.

i brought my iPad Air 2 to Dubai with me, went to the Apple Store at the Dubai Mall and walked out with an iPhone 7 Plus Leather case, walked back inside to catch the stunning sunset of the skyline and walked out with a new 10.5 iPad Pro and a Pencil which both i dont need ... but it was about 160€ cheaper than back home in Germany lol

p. s. i hate the smudges on the screen already. terrible. i thought the Air 2 was already bad with this

Conversely, this is really tough as a (potential) buyer. A 9.7" w/ Smart Keyboard can be had at $500, or even less, whereas that'll cost me $900 (10.5") from Apple. But the new ones...

Just do it. iOS 11 will really shine on the 10.5 with its 4GB RAM for better multitasking and future proofing. Hard to say, but we're really treating the iPad Pros like computers now.

What storage size on the 9.7 would you get that the cost with ASK would be $500?

Base model 10.5 with 64gb is $650 so additionally the ASK (without tax) would be about $800.

I've seen anywhere from 32 to 256 at $500 or below. Personally, I don't need more than 32, so it doesn't really matter, but it's obviously people are just dumping their older Pros onto the market.
