dbrand just emailed me with an announcement that they are releasing two new iPhone Air cases… one makes the Air look like a Pixel, and the other adds two additional fake cameras to the back. Problem solved!

I’d secretly judge anyone i saw using an Air. Like…ew..just buy a normal iPhone lol.

Thankfully, I haven’t actually seen anyone use one in public. Saw quite a lot of Pro users. Only time I’ve been unfortunate enough to set eyes on a real Air was in the Apple Store. Hopefully that was the last time too.

maybe I’m being too harsh. That paragraph is obviously just a joke but I still would judge someone stupid enough to buy an Air. Of all the phones available in 2025 you buy an Air? 😂

When I have to answer my phone I make sure I huddle in a corner and keep my back turned to the public and put my hood up, don’t want anyone to notice I’m using the air. It’s embarrassing enough as it is owning it without others noticing! 😳.

On a serious note, the Air is the best looking iPhone in my opinion since the iPhone X. 😁
Just put a thick case on it and a fake extra lens and you will be okay🤣😂

There’s been an unfortunate amount of negative chatter about the Air lately, and Pro (Max) users in particular (not all of them, of course) often seem eager to prove it shouldn’t even exist. So here’s a question for Air users: have you ever caught yourself, while using your Air in public, feeling a little embarrassed that someone might see you with this so-called “compromise” phone?
Compared to what? iPads especially iPad Pro? Mac Pro 2013? These will set the Mac conformists frantic. The only ones being embarrassing are the negative chatters. Press the "ignore button" and enjoy your choice.

Anyone who feels embarrassed to use a phone should seek help.

I don’t understand the point of the air, the compromises don’t make any sense to me over buying a standard 17.
That said why would I care if someone else likes it?

As a Pro user, I don’t care what device you use. And if you’re interested in why there is such „toxicity“, maybe start with questioning the title of this post.

Why isn’t there a "This is ridiculous" section in this poll? It's a phone no one cares what you are using and if you are well embarrassed maybe remembering its a tool not something to worship will help.

We’re doomed as a society

I was at a party Saturday, and I kid you not, three different people were amazed when they saw my phone. Each one asked, “What phone is that?” and the reaction was pure shock when I handed it them.

Is this a troll post....???? I could be using a Zac Morris phone with a 3ft telescoping antenna and not feel embarrassed. No one cares, they just don't. What phone you're using does not matter, to anyone.

Grow up.

I'd be embarrassed. Trade-in programs give $1,100 off Pro phones but just $800 off the Air phones which actually makes the iPhone Air more expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max. So knowing that, I would feel a split moment of second-hand embarrassment knowing that someone opted-in to pay more for a worse iPhone.

I never use trade-in programs.

Yes, I am embarrassed. Big mistake. Biggest mistake I have ever made. So big, I am tired of being embarrassed.

Aside from the utter pointlessness of the entire thread, you should probably stop relying on the poll results here to back up any argument whatsoever. They are unscientific at best. An online poll with only two available responses, of a self-selected group (137 poll respondents) within another self selected group (MR forum members) that is a vanishingly small percentage - one could easily say not representative - of the much larger number of Air owners. You actually don't even know for a fact whether any of those poll respondents even have an Air. You don't even know whether every one of those replies is trolling you.

The poll may have some entertainment value for you, but drawing any conclusions about the actual feelings or behavior of Air owners from the "results" it shows is a fool's errand.
Do you have any scientific evidence to support your claim?

If you have thoughts like this, I would recommend taking a long break from the internet and (anti-)social media.

It's a world of its own, full of rejection and hatred. Without any real or serious problems. Its like talking in the pub.

Don't pay any attention to people who reject you just because you bought a certain product. It's a product.
If you bought the iPhone Air and you like it, then be happy.
