It won’t be gone. So you probably will be holding out for a while.

We shall see. Hopefully it's gone. Some pretty good rumors going around saying the notch will be gone. Can't wait. The worst designed phones with that notch. It's like looking at someone with 2 front teeth missing. If not, it'll be the Microsoft Duo for me.

I have a estimate countdown on my phone of the next iPhone release in September. My estimate is we have 8.5 months left. I think I can hold out for the next Pro Max. I will definitely be upgrading especially more so if it’s 6.7 inches like the rumors point to.

I recently switched from the Pro Max to the Pro after years of using the plus size phones. The 5.8 is a tad small but I definitely enjoy being able to use my phone with one hand again. A 6.1 Pro would make me upgrade for sure. If not I will definitely keep the 11 Pro.

I am
It will be the iPhone 4
Of the 2020’s
Maybe even more magical...
The rumors about
• Under Display Touch ID
• 5G
• 3D Sensor Camera
• No Notch / OLED at its near limits
• Super Energy Efficient
• Processors will be as fast as a iMac’s
• Exotic New Phone Design
• 1 Terabyte of storage for the top tier one.
• Liquid Metal Casing
• The Old Magical Feeling That We Got From Using The iPhone 4 When It First Came Out Will Return For The 12 Pro.
• Who knows what else will be included.
I don’t know I‘m hearing the fingerprint sensor will be a 2021 feature. That would be something I’ll upgrade from my xs max. That’ll be helpful when unlocking in the morning or when its on a table. But I’m putting money aside now to pay upgrade cash and unlocked.

I guess it could be iPhone SE2 or iPhone 9. One of the notable leakers Steve H.McFly aka OnLeaks has shared some renders and they show that Apple is likely to target mid-segment with its budget phones.

LOL

Look at all these salty 11 Pro owners pretending like they're not excited...we know you are excited because you just bought a beefed up iPhone X. iPhone 12 is going to have a different chassis and material overall. Maybe another camera lens, promotion, way more RAM, and yea a totally different re-design.

I was waiting for the 12 and skipped this year's roided iPhone X. Sigh why can't people just be honest. Human nature I guess. Enjoy your iPhone X.
It’s not about not being honest it’s just I’m happy with my phone 11 pro. 5G isn’t here where I live at the moment in the UK and won’t be for a while. Also I never buy version one of a new design and if Apple does the three-year run of the new design, the third iPhone of the 12 series will be the best version and by then any hardware issues will have hopefully been worked out, as well as issues with battery life, toasty warm 5G modems and potential signal issues. By then I’ll probably be happy to buy one and who knows 5G may have arrived where I live too. Some people are just content with what they have, it’s really that simple.

I never get excited until I can see what I’m getting. Currently I’m still using my iPhone 8 and content to wait on upgrades. I may even buy into the 11 pro series if the new phones don’t deliver for the price.

I’d be more excited about reliable and evolving software. The last year has been one of the worst since the iOS 11 disaster.

BOGO sales close to launch date (Summer 2020) may bring great bang for buck opportunities if you’re looking to upgrade on the cheap

I’m personally not bothered at all about 5G. They haven’t even got decent coverage of 4G yet in the UK so it’s hardly anything to hope for yet.
Yeah it’s not even in my city yet so hopefully by end of next year it will but it’s why android having it now is not a selling point

It’s patchy as hell in South Wales. I get 4G in my house but 2 miles down the road it’s gone. Cardiff has it quite good but the Valleys are patchy.

I have 4G in my house but awful speeds. At work I get over 100MB but still even 4G as you can sell isn’t amazing everywhere

I don't understand the appeal for Touch ID. Face ID works flawlessly.
I can't go back to Touch ID after using Face ID. The convenience alone is so much better.

I'd like both. Sometimes I don't pick my phone up if it's laying next to me or tilt it up. And when using Apple Pay, resting your finger is more seamless than raising your phone up before you hold it to the reader.

FaceID is perfect for things like signing into apps when in active use or autofilling passwords, but there are occasions were TouchID would be useful.

And that 5.4" iPhone. Considering all the rumours, it seems that both are bound to happen.

I was genuinely excited, but then subsequent rumors seemed to hint that the 5.4" iPhone would be part of the iPhone 12 family and not the iPhone 12 Pro family. I don't want to give up any of the camera advances I got with the iPhone 11 Pro, but I really want a smaller device.

so... what do you all use the newest iPhone for? Does upgrading every year really help you, or is it a fad thing?

I jumped on the iPhone Upgrade Program for the iPhone XS and had the bought the iPhone 8 before then. It's not a fad for me, I'm just an enthusiast and enjoy the newness each year. I will say that as these phones gets better I feel a bit silly upgrading one year in, but I do it anyway. :D

I'm happier with my iPhone 11 Pro than I have been with any phone since my iPhone SE (with the 8 and XS) in between. And honestly since my 4S (the iPhone 6 was just fine).

Wow that is awful, what part of the country are you in? When I get it it’s ok but we have far too many hills that get in the way.

Leicester

my WiFi is still only 46-50Mb but still far better than EE speeds at home

While when I get out our street it’s over 80MB. And 115MB at work...crazy really

I am, I'll be coming from an iPhone 7.

5G and 120hz refresh rate is what I'm most excited for, as well as the cameras of course.

If this is true that it's going to be designed like an iPhone 4 i wonder if that's a sign for me. The last iPhone i used was the iPhone 4s. I will have been on Android for 8 years by the time this comes out. My plan currently is to at least TRY to come back to an iPhone. I'll be keeping my eye on any rumors/leaks.

4 main things i want:

Always on display
Qualcomm 5g
120hz display
Face id and touch id combination

Bonus feature that will never happen:

LED notification light
Those would all be my favorites plus reverse charging and an upgrade from 7.5W wireless charging already!

FaceID landscape would be nice. I could go either way on Notch or port type as long as they don't try to go portless until wireless charging is better for speed, range and public accessibility.

Grrrr yes! I'm definitely holding out even if the 12 has cool stuff until I hear if stock apps like Mail actually work right and that the freaking echo is gone!!!

With the Samsung S20 Ultra rumoured to be doing a 10x optical zoom and 100x hybrid zoom, I’m hoping for at least a 5x optical zoom than the getting old 2x zoom that iPhones have had since the 7 Plus.
