Pass for me this round. Sticking with my 2018 12.9". I desperately need more memory though, so it looks like I'll be deleting some things off for now.

Just thinking though, hasn't apple done this in the past where they do a minor increment, and then like 6 months later, a better version comes out. I feel like I've been here before. In any case, there were the rumors from some of the more credible leakers that there were larger screens incoming, but not his year, possibly spring next year. My guess is that in spring we may see the more significant design changes (larger screens, landscape camera, smart connectors for landscape, etc.). At least that's my hope at this point.

Looking at the specs, im keeping my 2TB M1 11 inch iPad. I don’t do anything in prores and I don‘t really need the 2 additional GPU Cores, so that will be a no from me

I’m still keeping my 512GB 2020 12.9” Wi-Fi iPad Pro. I’m waiting for Apple to switch to OLED, which is rumoured to happen in 2024, and move the camera to landscape like they did with the budget iPad

I think keeping my 2018 12.9", but really was hoping for a good reason to upgrade because I need more storage on mine.

I have a 2 TB M1 iPad Pro. I mostly upgraded to that one for storage and display tech. The M2 looks very nice but no compelling reason for me to upgrade.

Yep. Ordered a Silver 11” Pro 256gb Wi-Fi.

I don’t expect big changes next year either but when they do I will trade in

Yes, you think of iPad3. I hang on to my 2017 until a larger screen iPad arrives next year. I also hope for a power sipping 3nm M3 in my next iPP.

OLED in an iPad will not be coming any time soon. Would love to see it on an iPad but I doubt it for a while.
I currently have a 11" iPad Pro and I am only considering the upgrade because I want the 12.9". I chose the 11 over the 12.9 for mobility, but now find that my iPad stays in one spot most of the time. I was going to wait for the OLED, but based on research, it doesn't appear that is happening until 2024 or later.

Jury's still out on how I'll replace my 2017 iPP 12.9. Its touchscreen sensitivitiy issues are driving me nuts again (replaced it 3x under applecare+ over the years, each time due to touchscreen issues).

Would like to see a deeper dive comparison between the M2's and M1's before deciding to spend a painful amount of money on an upgrade. Since the pandemic hit my usage of my iPP changed and its primarily used for web surfing, shopping and content consumption but I do prefer the 12.9" screen and absolutely want cellular so it is what it is in terms of cost for me.

for those tasks, get an ipad air, no need for the M2 if its "painful amount of money" for you. Its an ipad for "shopping and content consumption"
Or if you like the big screen, yes get the M1

I have a IPP 12.9 M1 so the only difference is the M2 and the wifi 6E... and its not enough for the upgrade.

I have a 2020 12.9. The main upgrade i want is an OLED screen so I think I'm good for another year or two. The biggest thing for me is software, so we shall see.

My 2018 iPad Pro 11 is getting too old for me. I wanted a new 12.9 M2 but the upgrade is so mediocre I am going to just wait for a sale for an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 and buy that. I saw they were 900 before, and if I can find them for 900 or less again, I will buy it. Save 200 over the newer M2.

Yes. I will be upgrading for the first time. I still have the OG Ipad Pro. First edition.
Last year I went from the original iPad Pro to the M1. Huge upgrade! The pictures seem to pop out of the screen on the new one but honestly I always thought the original looked good at the time.

Not going to lie, this seems more like a model for anyone who had not jumped on M chip bandwagon yet. Not for anyone who already has an M1 iPP.
Precisely! Only in the bubble of GeekWorld do people upgrade their devices every year. Out there in Normal Land people typically wait 3-4 years (or more) before buying again. This is who today’s Apple product releases are for.
