No And not because I like the animations.

General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion does a good enough job of removing the excess (at least for me) animations. And that does not require some bug/hack to work.

That's what I use, this hack saves milliseconds. Not much difference to me.

So a basic generalization, meant to support an opinion. Got it. Times have changed and bye-bye IOS 6 and hello IOS 7-10.
No generalization at all.Microsof,Apple and other tech companies implemented animations because people liked them AKA the masses.People like you who turn off everything are those who obstinately stick to the old era.

People also dislike animations, which is why in Windows every bit of eye candy can be turned off with one radio button.

There must be a significant amount of paying customers who "stick to the old era" to include a one-click solution. And also for the same reason Apple includes reduce motion and transparency options. Simple concept to grasp and not sure why the reality of this is not understood.

Who could ever imagine people having preferences and differences in something subjective like animations? The horror of such reality!

Microsoft always caters to the lowest common denominator. The results are rarely good.

Doesn't seem to work on iPad Air 2. Beta 7. It works but springboard crashes with the multi tasking gestures (pinch to close)

Didn't like it personally, too ugly and buggy transitions.

Also had issues with long hold to paste stuff - sometimes the menu would refuse to appear.

This is really fast now on the 6S. very impressive speed. Just rebooted to look at the old animations and the difference is stark. I like it. Apple should give users the option going forward to turn animations on or completely off.

Just wanted to post this here as a reference to see lack of animations for certain things may be desirable and that some animations may be actually annoying, check out unlocking Samsung/Android vs iPhone, how instantly Samsung responds, whereas iPhone has an in-your-face sort of gimmick animation which looks nice once, but not for everyday usage (check at 2:40):

All eye candy animations are annoying. I wish I could disable them on iOS as in Windows.

The thing I like best is the timing. On all my other devices (non-iOS9) things click and open as I touch on them. Only on iOS9 did I have to click...wait...click. Gets annoying when your iPhone is the exception device.
This levels the behavior nicely. Like to see a Reduced Motion and a No Motion option. That way everyone is covered.
Like the bug and hope they either make it an option or allow it to exist.
Beneficial Bug - Imagine that!:D

I did it just to try it out thinking it would be something I like. Almost felt like whiplash every time I opened and closed an app so I rebooted. Cool for those who dig it, but it was almost giving me a headache.
Yeah its quick but not smooth at all. I went back as well. Wish they would give us a slider to adjust animation speed.
