same, how are people finding these tracking #'s?
How are people getting tracking numbers already, I tried ATT but nothing on there end.

I used UPS ground track by reference put in my phone number and it popped up.

Weird, it's saying my date range is incorrect, what did everyone put in for date range?

Last year, I took out the sim that came with the phone and put on mine and turned it on and it ruined the phone. I don’t know why. I have never seen that happen before, but it cause a lot of headache. I know if I activate this years phone under my mother in law’s upgrade, it will transfer her number to the sim that came in the phone. This has happened to us before. They don’t live too far away, so I’m just going to drive the new sim over to her and be done with it. Obviously you can’t do that.

You can try to just put your sim in before you turn on the phone and see if that works. Like I said, that didn’t work for me last year. The phone wouldn’t activate. Maybe it was just THAT phone. If you do have to activate your brothers number on the new sim, a call to customer service with his old SIM card and imei number will fix it. It will be a pain, but it can be fixed.
Were you able to activate the new phone with the new sim last year?

You may not have the tracking number yet. I would check back tomorrow as they will be updating over the night.
The ATT guy said it would most likely be through FedEx, as that is who delivered my 7+ in 2016, so I have their special tracking where they send me updates. Hoping for tracking by tomorrow, we're 3 days away from launch, he did say, of course just ATT Rep, that it would be delivered friday, which has me pumped, as I've never gotten a iPhone on release date. I'm trying to stay away from videos on the XS Max, as I want to see it in hand first

And like many have said, it's like Christmas for us phone nerds, as kids it seemed like Christmas took forever to get here, while as an adult, it's another day, and seems to come and go so fast.

But look forward to seeing everyone getting their XS or XS max Friday

Well, I put my old sim in first and it wouldn’t activate. It basically bricked the phone. It never did activate. I had to return it and get another one. When I got that one I activated it with the sim that came in it, then called att and had my mother in law’s number put back on her old SIM card, and then I put my sim in the new phone and all was well. It was a pain... but it worked out. This year I am going to activate it on the number we upgraded on and then just drive over with the sim and put it in their phone and then put my sim in the new phone.

Is any of this making sense? I recommend getting your brothers current IMEI and SIM. It’s possible that putting your sim in the phone and then turning it on for the first time will work. I might have just had a dud. I am just not going to risk that this year.

AT&T doesn’t care which phone you update as long as it’s on your account. 2 years ago I used the upgrade for my daughter’s phone to get myself a 7 Plus. When it arrived I took it to an AT&T store and they activated it for me, no problem.

I have done this the past 4 devices my wife and I bought. We just put the SIM in for the line we want to use and it activates no problem. We did it for 2 iPhone X's and a Note 8 last year. The year before I used an upgrade on our account that wasnt mine for a 7+ and just popped the SIM that shipped with the device out, and popped mine in.

Has anyone in preparing to ship successfully been able to locate their tracking number through fedex. If so how? Every delivery I get from previous release has been delivered through fedex but I can never get an early tracking number like the UPS people.

I think only 64gb phones have tracking info so far.

Good to know! I used an upgrade one a different line and I’m switching around a few phones also! I hope I don’t have issues.

Was anybody able to preorder a 44mm stainless steel watch? It has said out of stock since Friday. Did they even have any?

Sounds like, as with all things ATT, I'm going to end up messed up either way. On the one hand, your experience with a bricked phone is pretty catastrophic. But on the other, having to talk to ATT telephone support can also be pretty catastrophic ;)
