Just got my email that my iPhone Xs Max 252GB Gold just shipped, :D Watch still says "In Progress" though. :'(

I didn't order mine (XS 256GB gray) until 9/18. Got the email this morning saying it shipped but it hasn't updated on AT&T's site yet. But either way woohoo!

I can pre-sign for UPS, but I can't do it for any FedEx packages I receive. The option is usually greyed out or not there..

Yea, I tried to hold it at the FedEx location, but it was saying "try again later." I was hoping picking it up there would be faster than waiting for it to be delivered.
Honestly this is BS. Over at the Apple.com thread they can redirect their pre-orders as UPS is shipping them.

Got my shipping notice and tracking number. Checking it out, it turns out that my phone left Irvine, TX on Tuesday it had to have had a tracking number then but they just sent me the e-mail this morning.

Also in the past the phones were shipped by UPS I could ask that they be held at the UPS office and then go there and pick it up. FedEx says that either Apple or AT&T won’t allow that, so now I have to sit around until 8:00 PM tomorrow waiting for delivery.

Bit of a bummer, not much of one, as I’ll still have my phone at the end of the day, but I do have other things to do.

Anyone else’s not move from Irving, TX or go back to it then not move?

Mine is like that too. We'll probably see some movement later in the afternoon.

Got my tracking this morning for my 64 Space Grey Max and my Wifes 64 XS Gold. Currently sitting an hour south of us in Indy. :)

This the first set of phones i've ever ordered online as I usually go into the ATT store to buy/activate them when I trade the old ones in. Can anyone explain the process to me besides backing up and restoring information as I'm familiar with that. Is it easy to transfer service to the new phones? Is the process to mail the old phones back simple/reliable?

Yes. It’s not moving back and forth. What they are doing is scanning it every day that the package is there. Basically confirming they still have it. They physically received it on the 19th but continue to scan it to ensure they have logs indicating it’s still there.

It’s been very easy, but make sure you get a receipt from the Post Office when dropping off, and save any texts or emails acknowledging their receipt of your old phone.

Also, if you take to the store to turn it in be sure to keep every piece of paper they give you and keep it safe. I didn't know they didn't receive a phone I turned into the store and it caused HOURS of headaches. I finally had a sit in at the store and told the manager I was not leaving until it was fixed. He magically got the power to fix it. :D

Well that’s different — I just got a “personalized” video from AT&T on how to track my iPhone order and set it up. What made it “personalized” is that they used my name and correctly identified the phone I’m getting.

My phone, an iPhone XS Max, left Irving TX and is now in Indianapolis, IN.

By the way I notice that Apple is including a sim tool in the packaging this year. They haven’t done that in a long time.

Transfer content from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Do you know if I transfer my old iphone 7's simcards to the new phones? Or do I need to call ATT and activate the phones with the new sim cards they send? Or does it do it in the setup/transfer process? Thats really the only part I'm truly nervous about. I REALLY don't want to deal with ATT on the phone lol.

Its simple--and once you activate your new phone the service of your old phone will no longer be there!
