I ordered one tonight, picked up the 38mm Space Gray w/ Gray Sport Band GPS+LTE because it had the quickest shipping time, 9/28-10/5. Most all the others were mid to late October, or some even late October to early November.

I am coming from a 38mm S0, so I can wait a week or a little longer to get a WAY more powerful Apple Watch. Was honestly surprised I found one that could ship in a week. Might as well practice my patience, because I will be pre-ordering an iPhone X and that wait COULD be a while, hopefully not for those of us that get up at 3:00am to pre-order!

:apple:

Greetings,
I’m so happy some of you with later shipping dates like me (9/28-10/5) are getting improved dates. I’m on vacation and didn’t want to deal with trying to leave a signature form so I ordered later than normal - 8am on Friday. I was secretly hoping it would arrive once I’m home (We fly back in late Monday night). Now my hopes are up and I’m obsessively refreshing the order screen but still stuck on In Progress.

Good luck to the lucky launch day bunch!!

Cheers,
Bobbie

Still in Preparing to Ship this morning, must be coming sometime next week. Still better than I was quoted!

Hmm packages just reached Memphis tn at 5:58am this morning and is in transit. Supposed to go to Florida wonder if I’m going to get them today ? Anyone else in the same boat ?

Is there anyone that got a shipment notification and tracking info from UPS rather than Fed Ex? Everyone else I’ve seen so far has said theirs shipped via Fed Ex.
FedEx is the default for AT&T devices. Did you order from AT&T or Apple? The default for Apple is to use UPS. There are exceptions do to company affiliations but for the most part this is consistent.

Your device should have actually moved overnight and be at or near your local distribution center for delivery today.

I just checked my tracking. It's coming from Texas to West Michigan and is showing delivery for 8:00pm on Monday 9/25 now. For what it's worth I ordered 42MM space gray last Friday at about 2:15pm at the AT&T store and it was due to ship between 9/22 and 9/29. I just got the shipping confirmation email last night.

I don’t see anything about signature being required in my FedEx shipment notification. Is this normal?

Just got my "shipped" notice from AT&T.

They were true to their word...My original ship dates were September 22nd to September 29th.
My watched shipped from Fort Worth Texas tonight via FedEX.

Scheduled delivery for tomorrow 9/22 by 3:00pm!!

I backup ordered a watch from Apple that is still sitting at processing and a delivery date of Oct 13-20th.

Thanks AT&T!!!

While I am happy that people are getting their watches on time, I am still stuck in Preparing to Ship for the same watch ordered 8 or more hours earlier than those that got shipped already. I am not happy that I apparently woke up at 3am for no advantage in getting my watch on launch day when I could have done it later that morning and possibly had a better chance to ship for launch day delivery. Hopefully Monday is my lucky day instead.

I feel you there. I’m not happy with how this is working out at all. Their process is so opaque, and even reps can’t answer simple questions like, when will I get my order. Last time I order directly from AT&T, that’s for sure. I’ve never had this type of issue directly from apple.

Then blame Apple!

The issue is that AT&T does not have any stock to fulfill your order until they receive bulk shipments from Apple at launch. That means that your device is effective on back-order as soon as you make your launch day order and AT&T only received their bulk shipments yesterday! The carriers have to break down the bulk orders, add to inventory and then begin the fulfillment process to package for individual orders to us as customers.

The Carrier Customer reps have no visibility until the device for your order is actually "In Stock", so blame Apple for not providing the Carriers with stock at the same time as they allocate stock for their own per-orders for Mail and Retail delivery.

The reason you don't have this type of issue with Apple is because they manage all the inventory.

My issue is more with people behind me in line getting their orders shipped before me, and not having any actual visibility over what is going on. They clearly have inventory, because people who ordered the same product hours after me are getting theirs today, while I’m confused as to why mine hasn’t moved beyond “preparing to ship”. Inventory management is nothing new. Every other telecom has been much more transparent about this process, and I doubt AT&T is treated any differently by Apple.

Out of curiosity, were they exactly the same configuration devices? I'd imagine that that makes a huge difference on which orders go out first.

For example - "I ordered my 42mm Space Grey with Gray Sport band on 9/15 at 11:11pm ET." said one member on page 4 of this thread.

I ordered the same watch at 3:14am on 9/15 right after orders went live and mine is still Preparing to Ship while the other members watch is shipped already. That is about 20 hours after mine and I am still waiting. Like I said earlier, if I had known they weren't going to fulfill in order, I would not have wasted my time getting up at 3am to order.

AT&T screwed up my wife’s 38mm order and now it’s delayed until 10/2. My 42mm shipped yesterday, but my wife’s 38mm didn’t.

I got a text from AT&T this morning saying my recent order requires my attention and I need update my credit card information for my order to ship. I thought WTH and re entered my same debit card I previously used and they somehow canceled the original 38mm and re-ordered it with the ship date of 10/2.

The biggest piece of the puzzle is, my wife works at the bank and she says AT&T never even tried to charge my card for the 38mm. I swore I’d never order through AT&T again after my iPhone 5 fiasco, I should’ve learned my lesson then. This will definitely be the last time ordering through AT&T.

And remarkably, just got a shipping notification, although tracking info can't be found yet.

Edit: Shipping from Ft. Worth, specifies "weekday delivery" in instructions, set for delivery on Monday, even though it's "standard overnight". lol.

I'll see if I can get them to just hold it at the local FedEx center when it comes in overnight...

You and me both... I've been at preparing to ship since last night. No change at all. I could understand if others that ordered after me weren't getting their devices. Someone even said they ordered on Saturday and got it shipped!!
