It could be either the photo analyzing that people are mistaking the bad battery problem for (If you have a lot of photos) or most likely it's the debugging trace logs left in.

Could be but not always the case, clean installation and 0 photos in here still drain happens for me...well happened...

Same here. I've had a great battery life on iOS 9,now in the middle of the day I have 30%. I've got the iOS 10 GM public version. What to do now? Reset all settings or wait for the official release and try in iTunes?

Ops,sorry - iPhone 6.

I think you have 2 options:

1) Downgrade to ios 9.3.5 before Apple stop signing it or

2) Wait for Apple to release a new ios 10 firmware update, that could take an entire month and still not getting a fix though...

Atrocious battery life on my 6s. I turned off background apps updating and within the process of using my phone I notice the battery tick down as much as 5 percent even with the screen dim and me hardly doing anything.

I wish I could downgrade. Nothing but issues with this. I had the OTA update bug and had to redownload it via a computer through iTunes and now my battery is completely useless as a mobile device.

Why you can't downgrade? i guess you should be the process is pretty simple once you have a copy of the firmware.
[doublepost=1474512863][/doublepost]
Turning off Raise to Wake increased my battery life back to what it was. I'd recommend turning it off unless you have an iPhone 7
Well i did that before the downgrade however battery leaking was pretty much the same to be sincere.

No problem here on a 6s. Same if not better battery life.
Consider yourself lucky all the people i know who have an iphone 6s ios 10 are having problems.
[doublepost=1474513521][/doublepost]
If they release update there will be no way to come back to 9.3.5, right ? Good way Apple to force stay on IOS 10...
I just read that generally Apple stop signining between 7 and 14 days after a major ios was released, if that is still true they will stop signing 9.3.5 next tuesday...
[doublepost=1474513882][/doublepost]
I'm sticking with 9.3.5 till Apple works the bugs out of iOS 10. There's nothing compelling or time saving in the new version to be of use at this point.
Well to be fair the notification section on ios 10 is far better.

Hi!

I have installed System Activity Monitor which shows Battery Capacity 1715 mAh.
Today I installed on iMc 11,1 version of Coconut Battery which autr of the app sent me a link (coconutBattery_3_3_.zip) and I did run and it shows me:
Maximum Charge 1631 mAh
Design Capacity 1690 mAh
Load Cycles 66
iPhone 6s 8,1 model age 303

I didn't ask developer if is okay for iOS 10.

What is your opinion, please?

Your battery is doing pretty good. My 6s' maximum charge is 1515 mAh

How's your battery life on iOS 10?
Sorry, just not true. My two iPhone 6 phones are two years old and still in the high 90% range for capacity. My charge cycles on those phones is a lot over than yours, but that's the point. These batteries wear with use and what you're seeing is just chemistry, not a conspiracy.
My old iPhone 6 was perfectly fine 1.5 years later. The battery still held a good charge. It's just my 6s. A lot of people here aren't having issues with the iPhone 6, it's the 6s. I think their batteries lose its total capacity pretty fast. No other explanation. I used my 6 the same way I'm using the 6s right now. Same charging habits. And the end of the year, it's wear level was in the mid 90s, and my 6s is down to 88.

Right now i'm wondering if Apple will dare to stop signing ios 9.3.5 next tuesday (14 days) when ios 10 has this battery issues. Today i just downgraded from ios 10 to 9, Apple is still signing 9.3.5 but next tuesday will be 14 days and they use to stop signinig old firmwares after that period...mmmm

How's the battery life on iOS 9.3.5? Did you do a restore and set it up as new when you updated to iOS 10? How's your battery wear level on Coconut Battery?

The point of bringing up this whole "check your battery's capacity", is so that the people who have battery drain issues can figure out if it's because of iOS 10, or their battery.

Good question. Anyone on iOS 10.1 beta? Please share your thoughts on battery usage :)

Is it really specifically 14 days?

Does 10.1 fix the battery draining issue?

It's somewhat early to tell since it's only been about 12 hours at most since someone could have installed it.

in witch status are the location services in your iphone with battery life problem ??

The worst thing to drain the iphone battery are the location services!!!
Make a reset of this Settings/General/Reset/Location & Privacy
And your battery life it will be normally back....;)

I wonder if it's possible this is a bug with stats and percentages displaying incorrectly. I wanted to try draining the battery completely and fully charging to see if that helps this situation, and my phone has been at 1% for over two hours. I'm typing this post on it right now. Low power mode is off.

Quite possibly, had similar experience and it is much better since, 10.1 beta even improve it more so far!

Finally got the battery to die.

I'll let you guys know if a total power drain helped.

I would love to know... I miss the fast animations of 10 but with the 9.3.5 signing window probably coming to a close very very soon I don't want to risk the update and be stuck

First full day of charge on ios 10.1 beta 1 and here we are, normally would be about 70% on same usage.

Based on nothing more scientific that just reading posts here, I agree with you that there does seem to be something up with battery life on the 6S compared to the 6.

This is the "new" 6S Plus the Apple Store swapped mine (broken screen not battery related issue) for yesterday. Spent most of the night streaming podcasts, listening audiobooks, some internet browsing, and some app based stuff. Was unplugged at roughy 10:15pm last night and it's about 2pm the following day now. iOS 10.0.1 not the 10.1 beta. Might get the 6 Plus battery replaced at some point.

Quick question for those in the know: what's the best way to treat a new battery? Drain it to zero once then charge it back up but never let it get to zero again? Be good to try and have this last as long as possible.

Modern batteries do not like to be "formatted" in 100 - 0 - 100% cycle. Only bad Chinese parts for cheap phones need it because parts on battery loses information on whole available battery (microchip)
However it's good to once a month do full cycle 100% - 5/10 % and 100%.

Never ever let battery die for so long. Chemistry effects of creating crystals will kill its efficiency.
