I appreciate not everyone wants a chunky smart battery case; with mine, though, I've effectively doubled the phone's battery life.

I think of it as having 200% when fully charged; after the case battery dies I still have 100% on the phone and I needn't recharge every day or even every 2 or 3 days - worth £99 to me.

Just out of interest roughly how much usage time do you get out of 1 full phone charge and battery pack charge combined?

firstly no one is a liar.
Secondly my usage time Doesn't go up 30 mins every 7hours of standby like yours does, if I leave my phone for 7 hours on standby usage time probably goes up a few minutes at most.
Thirdly I use my phone indoors mainly and 30% brightness is about right for the lighting indoors, 50% brightness is way too bright unless your in sunlight!
Next time I need to use my phone for 10/11 hours straight out of 13/14 hours I'll post you a screen shot as evidence ok ;) .. until then I couldn't care less if you believe the usage Im getting or not fella.. it's just doing slightly less than Apple says it can do :)
Cheers
Ps it's not a competition :D .. so don't feel threatened

I haven't gone there yet - always recharged when the phone is down to around 40 - 50%. I will do so, though, and report back. The case battery is bigger than the phone's but due to inefficiency I'd guess that both phone and case battery are about the same in longevity.

Battery life is phenomenal, but I cheat a little:

Wow... which iPhone do you have ? I've a 6s plus now and the fact that apple released some battery cases for the non-Plus models make me want to switch for a non-Plus model

I have an iPhone 7 in matte black - the case is almost the same colour. slightly lighter. It makes the phone a lot heavier but I've gotten used to it...and it is nice and grippy making general handling, and taking photos, easier. When I pick up my bare Huawei P9 Lite it feels unbelievably thin now.

On another thread many posters were down on the smart battery cover but I like it. I consider its £99 better value than the £99 Apple charge for going from 32GB to 128 (although I did get a 128, 256GB would have been overkill for me)

It's a bit dusty having been in my pocket:

Ok thanks for your answer. For the next iPhone, I will consider for the non-Plus model with a smart battery case.

I guess it's something I would buy if I went camping for a few days in the middle of nowhere with no socket to plug my phone in to charge.

If I didn't live my midnight blue leather case so much I would've bought it in a heartbeat. No worries about battery life ever again would be so good.

no need battery cases. nothing superior. just set 30% brightness on auto brightness will get what we had. but remember to set manually on auto brightness if you feeling too bright or dark and the system will remember for future. keep in mind better keep it between 30%-60% max
[doublepost=1482700901][/doublepost]also, background refresh turns off facebook and google map. you can keep facebook messager app on. it will not affect facebook app because you don't need it keep refresh when you not using it

You can actually turn background app refresh off for messenger too and it will still push your messages through the same.
Agree about the brightness settings

i more likely kept some on. not necessary turn all off.....most hog is facebook and google map do you agree.
[doublepost=1482702435][/doublepost]simple statistic forumer. any app you use to using everytime just set off background refresh because if not it will keep running, but not for those VOIP because it needs it just like watapp or skype. OR just shut it down using app switcher
.

Turning off Background App Refresh does not prevent apps from running in the background. All Background App Refresh does is help apps run in the background more efficiently, thereby saving resources. Apps run in the background whether you have BAR on or not. They need to do that so they work as you want them to.

turning background app refresh will not shut it down immediately. turning off background refresh is for standby time. test it, for usage time will not that much, when you turn it off when in standby.
[doublepost=1482703086][/doublepost]you are amateur. if you use mac for a long time especially mac Osx you will know how it works.
[doublepost=1482703509][/doublepost]apple aways like to cheat on this.

Personal observations with background app refresh on for all apps or completely off I notice no difference in real world useage. The only difference I've observed is a negligible difference in over night standby drain .. background app refresh on for all apps 3 or 4% battery loss over night, background app refresh off for all apps 1 or 2% battery loss over night.

How is my battery looking? iPhone 7, mostly everything's turned off. Watched a few videos.

It's not great for a 7 but it depends on a lot of factors really .. like if you've been in a weak cellular signal area a lot, screen brightness settings etc.

Here's a comparison of mine right now so you can decide yourself how it's doing..

Here is my battery life on a 7 plus. Don't know how good or bad it is. My display is on auto brightness.

i will said not to compare here because brightness and app play an factor. if you just play facebook or youtube is great. if you just use google browsing you could do more. so nothing superior. just do itunes and browsing web we can do 12 hours atleast.

totally agreed. background refresh shut off is for battery overnight usage time, not an immediate effect.
