My battery life has been pretty awesome. I've been running iOS 10 since beta and GM has been awesome on my battery thus far. I have a 6s plus. Just my experience.

Nice! Just curious; is your GM version still sending diag logs to Apple, or did you set it to not send?

Battery life terrible here also. Dropped 20% in a little over an hour this morning with barely any usage. It shows messages eating up most of it.

I never send logs to apple. Just something I've always opted out of.

Interesting, thanks. I was wondering if the GM version's battery was due to constant logging/sending. It's anecdotal, but that at least kind of confirms my suspicion.

Do a couple of full charges first. On first day my battery went from 60ish% to zero within 1hr of working out at the gym. I've done two full recharge cycles and now my phone lasts 7hrs usagage and 22hrs stand by.

Using the phone (6S+/web/tapatalk/wifi) for 20min and the battery has dropped 12% :/

Does this iMessage battery usage have anything to do with this issue, mine says 50% background usage!

Contacted Apple support and they also notice battery drain on SE (called about other thing). I really hope they make a fast update soon. Problem mostly on WiFi. Cellular data is ok. So something maybe with wifi module or iCloud (keys, backup and others are disabled... )

Battery do not show any background usage of any app I use, checked also settings for it... that's really weird

Absolutely awful on my 6s. I'm currently at 38% with only almost 3 hrs usage. I'm usually around 5hrs usage at this percentage . It is saying my biggest battery drainer is iMessages (background). I've maybe used iMessages twice in 24 hours yet it's draining my battery. Hope there's a fix for this coming soon.

It's destroying battery life on my SE. A few iMessages and I'm down 12%! The phone is HOT! Pretty sure I've turned off all the silly new features but to no apparent effect. To anyone reading this... DO NOT UPGRADE till there's a fix.

Turning iMessages off for a while to see it that makes a difference.

If they release update there will be no way to come back to 9.3.5, right ? Good way Apple to force stay on IOS 10...

It's ok for me, iPhone 6, 69% remaining, 2h15 of use and more than 7 hours of standby. However I am on iOS 10 since beta 2 or 3 and I have the feeling that battery life was slightly better during beta 6 or 7, can't remember exactly.

I can't tell if it's worse. Maybe marginally. I did notice something odd though. I went into Background App Refresh and somehow had one app turned on. I don't need any turned on really. I turned it off and went back to the settings page. I rechecked the refresh list to see what apps are actually listed and they were all turned on! What the heck?

iPhone 6S. 64GB AT&T. 14A403 build.

  • I've had horrible battery life since GM.
  • Did a full reset of settings a few days ago. Still bad.
  • Restored as a new phone without backup last night to see if that helped.
    • Full charge at 6am.
    • Listened to already downloaded music on the way to work.
    • Phone shut itself down to the empty battery screen at 42% at 7:55am.
    • Plugged into computer and booted back up to 49%
Something is definitely wrong on the 6S's and it's not just me needing to give the iPhone time to adjust.

I did a itunes Restore on my 6s Tuesday night. Battery life seemed worst at first on Wednesday. However, Thursday
battery life was good - similar to ios 9.

Yesterday was terrible on my 6s, had to charge 3 times throughout the day. Battery usage said 6 hours of Phone app on screen which definitely wasn't right. Today seems normal so far..

Yeah I did, after I did a bit of testing. Worse still, the diagnostic logs were "stuck" on mine and couldn't be removed even with Xcode. I had to remove the beta profile, erase everything and start over. I had ~3gb of logs just sitting there eating space.

I never send logs to apple. Just something I've always opted out of.

Is there a way for me to remove diagnostic logs manually if I don't have Xcode? I don't automatically send diagnostic logs to Apple.
