In cold during winters. It can be even late autumn and everyone I know has had this problem. My dad now hates all Apple products thanks to iPhone 7 that randomly turns itself off during winter even though the battery is almost full.
I was disappointed as well with my iPhone 5s and SE 2016. I skipped iPhone SE 2020 for the very same reason. Someone told me that iPhone 11 has a good battery life and I'm considering in buying this. XR still has bad battery life. I asked my friends that use XR. They'll go Samsung soon too. It's much easier to go Android if you dont use a Mac.
Know plenty of people who have iPhones 7 and XR, also not seeing these problems, 2 close friends are currently using iPhone XR, never heard them complain about battery life. ?‍♂️?‍♂️

I was talking about leaving my phones in the vehicle on hot days. they shut off for safety. Yours is a different situation. I have an iPhone 11. It does get great battery life. Not the reason that it's leaving the stable. I am bored with the never changing iOS. it's boing, stale and just blah. Nothing exciting at all.

I know people who dislike android (and consider it a hot mess) as much as your Dad dislikes Apple. And so it goes, round and round in the world; to each their own.

The 6s and 7 I believe did have a bad bunch batteries. I have two 5s from 2013 both with original batteries and they are my spare phones. While I won't claim battery life is stellar, it will do enough should I lose/break my phone.

If one looks at google, there are posts with android phones just shutting off, it happens.

People who dislike Android aren't that bright then. There are so many different Androids out there and so many different manufacturers have their own operating systems.
I've never had such issues with Sony or Samsung as with iPhones. What surprises me the most is either I and my relatives and friends have had all bad luck or people are denying it.
My sister's son has iPhone 12 max pro and the battery on it is still fine though.

Not saying iphones are perfect and completely problem free, but in my circle generally iphones just run. People denying it make no sense, the internet would be ablaze if iphones were as bad as all that.

I think I misunderstood you. Also, nowadays both iOS and Android have come the long way.
I've been using my $100 Motorola for a year now and it's ok. I mean for real, it's ok. I can watch Netflix and YouTube and listen to the music just fine. I remember in 2010 I had some Huawei, which was cheap as well, but it lagged so much.
Nowadays you can get an ok phone for a good price. Also, I'm surprised that my Motorola still receives updates, because updates was the main reason why I switched to iPhone. My Sony was as expensive as iPhone and it was a great phone, but Sony didn't release updates for it. Very rarely if they ever did and they didn't fix stage fright etc. So I switched to iPhone and bought 5s. With 5s the battery became an issue and it's the same with everyone I know. Although I've been thinking of getting iPhone 11, because someone on this forum acknowledged the problem and said that iPhones now have a better battery life (since iPhone 11), because I have friends that have XR and the battery life isn't that great.

My wife has an XR, which she bought when it was released. XRs did have good battery life when they were released, as reported by various posters on MR. Maybe as the battery aged, the useful daily screen time decreased.

Not putting down your phone. These are just facts. You overpaid for a device that has piss poor resale value and will be outdated in 3-6 months (by other Android devices)...and in 6 months, will be surpassed by one of your own kind (if Samsung continues with Note series). It is an absolute poor choice of device...but then again, i can say that about pretty much any Android device...but you knew that already, right? That is why you’re here.
Way to insult a member here.

That’s the weird thing about Pixels……they run like iPhones initially, but then start to stutter and lag. The same can be said about other Androids but Pixels is what i hear consistently because people expect them to be “pure” and “fast”. The ONLY one that has been consistently fluid is OnePlus but that has other issues too.
Have you used both of these phones?

That’s an insult? Sorry, i just stated facts.

Oh look, Samsung S21 series lose 50% of its value within THREE MONTHS of release…and Samsung has the best resale value of the Android bunch! LOL

From CNET:

The Galaxy S21+ 5G is worth around 50% less for 256GB and 45% less for 128GB. The Galaxy S21 Ultra lost the least value, but is still worth 47% less for the 128GB model and 53% less for the 256GB model.

"Despite only launching in January 2021, all handsets have lost almost 50% of their value," Sell Cell said in its report. "That is a substantial loss, considering they have only been on the market for three months."

According to the study, the iPhone 12 Mini 256GB lost the most value, at 33%. Losing the least value was the iPhone 12 Pro Max 128GB, which has depreciated by only 18% [since launch].

Hmmm…would i want to lose 50% of value in 3 months (S21U) or 18% in 5 months (12 Pro max)?

Tough decision. One (S21U) is a POS. The other (12PM) is the standard…getting a perfect 5 star Rating from Toms Guide.

And if you don’t take my word for it…take XDA: https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-olympus-testing-iphone-sensor-shift-tech/

“Apple devices offer what many consider to be the gold standard in mobile imaging, so it’s no surprise other companies are looking to bring sensor-shift tech to their mobile lineup.”
The 12PM pics are barely different to the 11PM, people just get sucked into fancy terminology. If you think "sensor shift" brings a night & day difference, you're lying.

most people do not buy phones to sell them in 3 months.....

open a pawn shop if you want to get into buying and selling

Significantly wider f/1.6 lens. Much bigger sensor. Sensor shift with difference of one f-stop in low light. 87% more light in. Computational power of A14.

yeah, barely any difference. Lol

See eBay listings. plenty of people sell their phones.

And they also do trade it in. And carriers often give old iPhones the value of recent androids.

Wow, you can read a spec sheet. Congratulations, you must be so proud. Meanwhile, in real world use, there's barely any difference in photos between the two phones.

You're getting sucked in by the Apple marketing team. Most reviews agreed that pictures from the 11PM are not noticeably or significantly different than the 12PM.

Barely, barely. But if you feel the need to keep posting in this section to prove to everyone how amazing your phone is compared to the competition, have fun.

And dxo? ?

Lol. That’s all you have? No facts to back anything you said?

Pretty sad. Even android sites are quoting superiority of iPhone 12 PM.
