Best Buy Pre Order for Series 4 Apple Watch?

Im a gold ss with a 9/28-10/3 date and Apple just changed my order to preparing to ship
44" aluminum SG with sport loop. No status change. Still shows "ships by 09/21". Seems the loop models are very limited as I can right now place an order for pickup tomorrow with the standard sport band.
I saw the same exact thing, and I’m in the same boat as you. Aluminum SG w/ sport loop, I hope we see movement by end of night. Did urs originally say delivers by 9/21? Mine did when I ordered , but changed to “we’ll ship it by 9/21”.

So I just chatted with them. Ordered a 44mm SS right after site went live and has always showed preordered and in progress and this is what they said.
I can see that you've pre-ordered Apple Apple Watch Series and it shows here that the item is shipped once available. Order will be fulfilled once item is released which as it shows online as Sept. 21. We highly suggest to check your e-mail from time to time for any updates and your online account to check on it's status.

Ordered a 44mm space grey with black sport band, and a 40mm silver with white sport band by 10 minutes after launch time. Order page still says 'In progress'... no indication of shipping. Infuriating, but nothing I can do about it I guess. In the future, I'll just keep my business with Apple directly.
I've got a SBSS ordered with the "We'll ship it by Sept 21st" and "Pre-ordered" as the status. Best Buy uses your order number as reference for UPS. It's how I found out my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones had shipped earlier this week before they updated the site to reflect it. They haven't charged my card or even made a label for my SBSS Apple Watch so it won't be coming tomorrow.

Anecdotally, I'm going to bet that my SBSS order from Best Buy and the 9/28-10/2 order I made on Apple.com that just went to "Preparing to ship" and already charged my card will arrive at either the same time, or my Apple order will arrive first since. Which would be ironic because I ordered Best Buy AFTER making the Apple.com order because it said it would be 1-2 weeks until it shipped, compared to Best Buy's "Release date" shipping promise.

I popped into my local store and chatted with a cell phone person. An apple rep happen to he there and said they got 5 total watches for release day. All gold. Wtf. I mentioned the pre order issues we have had and they both said it's not happening tomorrow. Best buy is back ordered from apple and said next week or the week after is best idea. Take all of it with grain of salt. It's a really big best buy and 5 watches???

Im pissed they can just lie to us like that with no consequences. Giving us a guaranteed delivery date and yet they had no idea. Also, seems like the chat people are just an outsourced support telling us (well me at least) what I wanted to hear.
Best Buy always does this. Shocking they are still in business considering others that have vanished
So my order won't ship and come tomorrow but Best Buy had it available for pick up tomorrow so I placed an order for pick up. Sport band not the sport loop I wanted but bands are cheap and I can't pick it up on the weekdays
