Best Buy Pre Order for Series 4 Apple Watch?

We understand how excited you are in getting your brand new Apple Watch. Orders for Shipping will be delivered 5 days after the release day or depending on the shipping method you selected when you placed the order.

Since your order was on standard shipping, that is for 5 days from the release date. We suggest to check email then for the updates of the order and its shipping details then.

Best Buy currently securing the inventory of the item and make sure that it will reach to all the customers on its promised date. Once it will be available, you'll be then notify via email. For standard shipping, it will be shipped 5 days after the released date.

Reading this poor representation of the English language is like nails on a chalkboard for me. These reps are not doing good things for Best Buy's reputation.
So, I did a preorder for pickup on Friday, and here it is Monday morning, 15 minutes after opening, and my store is still showing no inventory. Online says that I can get it shipped to me, arriving by Wednesday.
My question is, for people who have ordered online over the weekend, have they been getting shipping notifications confirming actual availability, or is it just more of the Best Buy mirage?

I feel bad for Best Buy store employees. It’s obviously a shortage from apple. The SS models dropped from launch day to 1-2 weeks after 10 mins on apple site. I’m guessing BB was expecting way more than they got if any at all.
I have called 1800my Best Buy and contacted bb over fb
They are trying (I did have a few people that didn’t have a clue. when that happened I asked for a supervisor). They offered to overnight me an aluminum model and would wave the shipping fees and extend the return policy till I got the SB SS 44 that I ordered.
They also took $80 off my order and called the local store and talked with the managers there about figuring something out. Idk how much more they could do with the tools they have. It sucks not having it at launch. But I feel they are making an effort to make it right. The Facebook page seemed to make that most effort.
I’m guessing the Best Buy corporate big wigs took an early day Friday and will have to deal with it today. Hopefully they do a gc thing like when they messed up series 2.

the reason i ordered from BB in the first place was verizon didn't have any available when pre-orders cranked,then on friday morn at 8 i ordered from BB,then they showed up on Verizon website,too late for me,Should have canceled the BB order,but thought i was getting in on the 21st. Never again
Yeah, when I went to the store on Friday they all were very apologetic, even though I knew they were at the mercy of apple/mgmt.
Ordered a SB SS with Milanese loop. Mine switched to “reserving item. Will let you know when it ships” sometime last week without a will ship by 9/21. Just called today and they said mine is already being prepared and waiting for carrier pick up with a promised delivery of tomorrow 9/25. None of this information reflected on the app or website. I hate that I had to call just to receive my update. Hopefully it’s all true and I receive it tomorrow!
Mine switched to shipped and looks like it'll get shipped tonight. I ordered 6:30AM the day of release.
I just watched FedEx drop off my SBSS 44 through my Nest Hello. Only four hours until I get to unbox!
At that point, I have roughly two weeks to decide if I'm going to keep the stainless or the space gray aluminum I picked up the other day.

I did the same - preorder and pickup on 9/21 in local best buy.
But when I went to pickup my 44 mm watch and XS in apple store, I checked with them if they have stock of 40 mm. They had one and I got one. So good that I canceled the Best Buy order.
Check with your local Apple store if they have a stock!
I wish I had a "local" Apple Store! Unf. I live in hicksville Wisconsin. I'm lucky I have "local" Best Buy (only 25 minutes away).
My Best Buy got a few 44mm SG's in over the weekend, but I really prefer the silver, and with something this expensive I'd rather wait for what I really want. As Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part.
BB finally shipped my 44" SG w/ sport loop. Order was placed 3 hours after they started accepting orders. No delivery estimate yet as UPS has yet to receive the shipment record.
I’m in wisco as well. Haven’t seen any stainless at any Best Buy from Madison to Green Bay

That’s great! I placed my order for the same watch about 10 min after orders opened and my status is shipping delayed.
Strange. I had the same experience in WI. Most mornings I would jump on Best Buy and Apple and check for stock and there was never anything available for stainless models.
I actually had a surprisingly pleasant experience ordering through Best Buy. Placed my order on Wednesday and it said it would be ready Friday, but knowing all the shipping issues and how popular the new watch would be I was preparing myself for no way would it be ready Friday. Got an email Friday morning, ready for pick up. Went in expecting a really long line. Nothing. Walked right up and had my watch in less than 5 minutes. I asked if they had been crazy today being launch day and he said 'not really, the Apple section has been but we have been pretty chill. Couple iPhone pick ups but you're the first watch." I was pretty shocked. Could have just been the location, being in Maine, and I am sure they stocked up on the lower end watches (I got the black aluminum). But upgrading from my series 0 this thing is pretty awesome!
I ordered a Gold Aluminum last Wednesday and got a delivery date of tomorrow (9/25) but my status still says "preparing" and I have no sign of shipping.

Following up on my journey... I pre-ordered from Best Buy within 8 minutes on 09/21 and expected delivery (per Best Buy) by the following Friday, 09/28. On Thursday 09/27 I cancelled and re-ordered for in-store pickup since the website said "available at [my local store] for pickup". Friday, then the weekend, comes and goes.
My order remained in progress through this morning. I called the local store today and despite their website saying "delivers by 09/28 or pick up on 09/26", they said they had no stock and "the website is probably best to go by".
Got my confirmation for in-store pickup a few minutes ago, guess stock is arriving! Woo! Hope y'all get yours soon.

got my silver 40mm Aluminum in the early afternoon, thanks UPS for not making me wait until 7pm this time. Very happy with the size and to find that my steel Milanese loop fits easily over my fist with the extra 2 mm of length. The 40mm size is in a nice sweet spot for the average wrist from what I can tell.
Finally my BB order has shipped! Expected delivery tomorrow- yessss.
i ordered a wifi 44mm AW 4 space gray yesterday, Sunday, and it will arrive Wednesday.
Also did preorder it originally on release date, but i now want the bigger size. Apple still shows October shipments. Just an FYI, people can get them faster from BB than Apple.
