Best Buy Pre Order for Series 4 Apple Watch?

Was your order showing delivery by the 21st or was it the "we'll let you know when it ships"?
My status also changed to preparing. Nothing available tracking wise from BB or UPS.

I'm almost positive when I first ordered mine it said deliver by 9/21. Then status changed to we will ship it by 9/21 since I ordered. Did yours say "we will ship it by 9/21" before the preparing status showed up?
My card has officially been charged and my order is now in the "Preparing" phase. I also no longer have the option to press the "Cancel Item" button, so hopefully this is a good sign.
Just got off customer chat with Best Buy (right side, little blue box "(?) Help" and "Chat with an Expert") and they said, "it will be shipped to you on 09/21". When I pressed for more information re: receiving it on the same day, I was told, "Yes, it will be shipped to you on the release date that is 09/21. Be rest assured, we will take care of this for you and you will receive the order on 09/21" (emphasis mine).
Correction: top-most status says "In Progress" (next to order date), lower says "Pre-ordered" (green line).

I kinda feel bad for the support people. They are probably getting the same question over and over. All because Best Buy's site isn't more transparent...
Thanks. I actually just contacted BB through the chat and they first told me here it shows it's set to ship 9/21 w/ standard shipping and should take 3-5 days and theres a chance you may get it 9/21. I said wait a minute, when I ordered it said it would deliver by 9/21 and now you are telling me I won't get it until the following week or later? If that's the case I'm extremely dissatisfied and need this fixed. The person stated ok I will go into the order and make sure you receive it on release day 9/21 and gave me a reference number. I asked two different times, so I will definitely receive my order by 9/21 and they said yes each time. Do I believe them? Not sure, but hope it's true as I took the day off to be home for both my XS Max 512GB (bought from Verizon) and AWS4. Guess I'll be stalking my order status throughout the day lol.
I originally pre-ordered w/ Apple on launch day. There was a disaster of my cc fraud detection going off due to Apple accidentally charging three watches. I was so frustrated I canceled the order with Apple. I happen to be in BB later that day and asked about pre-orders. They took my pre-order for a SB Aluminum 44mm for pick up in store on 9/21. I received an email confirming the order. Although I haven’t received a pick up email yet, my order status recently changed to “estimated pickup date 9/20.”
I have never pre-ordered anything from BB before. At the time of pre-order the reps commented that they had not had as many pre-orders as past AW launches and all and all there wasn’t much chatter about it. I suspect most people will be able to get their orders on launch.

Not that i don’t believe you, I just don’t believe Best Buy. Hard to believe a chat person can alter an order like that

Best Buy has been known to screw up preorders. This happened with a prior Apple Watch release and they issued off cards for the screw up
My order just shipped 10 minutes ago. No tracking info showing in UPS yet. It is a 44mm gold aluminum with pink sand sports band. It said before I should get it by the 21st.
I ordered from Apple 2 hrs into preorder phase with estimated delivery middle of October. Ordered through BB yesterday for in-store pickup and it says they will have it Friday Sept 21. Paypal already shows the charge by BB. While the apple charge shows as pending. Hope that is good news for the BB purchase.

No movement on my SS 40mm Milanese Loop BB order. Just says "Status: Pre-Ordered". I ordered it within 15 minutes of the preorder going live. I also have an order from Apple that says Oct 2-5. Looks like they are going to be really slow getting SS orders out. Oh well, my wife will have to enjoy her new iPhone XS MAX in the meantime. She is switching from Android so it will be a little learning curve. Hope that tides her over!
