I think the otterbox is still the best case after a screen modification. The buttons on mine have broken in considerably and I prefer the slimness, level of protection and hardnes of the rubber on the otterbox.

The people at Otterbox know how to make money. They had the Otterbox defender released before the Iphone 6 was out as not to lose the biggest bulk of their sales. As we now know of the defender's short comings, Otterbox is working on the updated version. They have updated their cases in the past as well. I was considering going for a different case, but the Otterbox Defender is built like a tank and I have decided to hold on to my original Defender until the revised version is released.

I have the pelican protector which is good. However I am awaiting the Otterbox for the plus. If the defender is thin enough I will get that and remove the screen to keep my glass.

The Pelican Voyager is built extremely well and, imo, is just as protective as the defender would be...while looking better, again imo.

I've had it for 3 days now [ been thru the Apple leather case, Spigen Air Cushion, and Incipio Dual Pro ] and I honestly cannot find any major faults. Would've been nice if the power and volume buttons were a bit easier to depress, but I'm getting used to it.

I didn't bother using the supplied screen protector because I already have the Zagg tempered glass on the iphone.

The Apple leather case is just ...blah. Looks real sharp [ esp the midnight blue ] but I don't foresee it providing any drop protection.

The Spigen Air Cushion looks, and feels great! Only if it had sightly better front screen protection, I'd hang on to it !!

The Incipio Dual Pro, just like the Air Cushion, falls short on front screen protection, and the slightly slippery back didn't help either.

So far, the Pelican Voyager has been great. Great construction and, from what appears to be, amazing drop protection for back and front.

It nicely covers the glass edges that current tempered glass protectors don't. Makes me feel very confident using the Voyager.

The Voyager does add some bulk.. and makes my Note 3 feel almost feather weight now! But, it's a trade off I'm willing to accept to offset any damage from drops.

The holster and clip are rock solid, and I never felt the device would pop out and fall. At this point, it seems like $60 well spent!

Thanks for the feedback. I just ordered the Voyager for my 6 Plus. (got $12 off with coupon code RMN20).

Yes. Early purchasers were receiving some kind of insert to fix a problem with the volume buttons not responding when depressed. I have been trying to follow the issue.
Well I got my case a few days before the iPhone launch (Sept 17) and there was nothing extra in the package.

I agree. On my 4S I did the same. Remove the built in screen protector and clean up any glue and residue left on the plastic with rubbing alcohol. I then installed a Spigen Crystal screen protector, then put on the defender. Perfection. I went away from it with the 5 and paid the price with some scratching and scuffs on the aluminum from dropping it. I may go back to that with the Defender after they release thier improvements to the 6+ case.

Most of the iPhone 6 users are looking for an iPhone 6 that is slim and thin, well for me I would love to go outdoors as well as always doing some mountain hiking and other outdoor related stuff every month, I ‘m looking for an rugged case for my new iPhone 6, my officemate recommend this one he said it good and rally tough.

Well I just want a second opinion any suggestions or rugged case that you used before that is good, heavy duty?

:)

This is good but Griffin is much better I think

Was screen removal as easy as previous defenders?

Super easy. This was the first defender with which screen removal was necessary for sanity, I have previously been pleased with the provided protector.

I just held the upper piece housing the screen protector and pushed down on the protector separating the protector from the plastic. I then removed the glue.

I also had to add some padding to the rear portion of the plastic behind the phone to keep the phone from sliding around. Now it's what I wanted. As a matter of fact, the otterbox with the tempered glass protector is far better than my previous otterboxes.

Thank you for the help. Just waiting on the 6 plus defender. Wish they would hurry. :)

The Pelican is 'cheap looking and feels cheap'.

Add to that...

The Pelican is 'cheap looking and feels cheap', but at $60, is anything but cheap.

I currently own the Apple Leather case for my 6+.
Is there a rugged case that has screen protection without sticking something on my glass?
Kind of like how Lifeproof does it?
I would only use it for riding my bike.
I want basic water protection, doesn't need to protect from being submerged.

I'm hoping they will be releasing the revised iphone 6 defender around the same time as the releasing of the iphone 6+ defender.

I'm glad it worked out for you, however I don't see having to improvise on a $50 case. Why not wait until the revised defender is sent out? I'm sure they will remedy the gap between the plastic screen and the phone.

Thanks for the pics, but I'll stick with the Voyager. That Defender looks hideous!

I think the guy was talking about the Protector, which is "cheaper" than the Voyager which costs $60. Neither seem cheap to me. Quality products in my opinion.

At $125.00 for a case, that better be delivered by Lily from the AT&T commercials. Naked.

Most water proof cases are 80+
Tiktak 360 is using Gorilla Glass as it's built in screen protector add that with their build quality that price isn't as bad as it looks.

Any thoughts on the Griffin Survivor slim for the 6+? It is roughly the same price as my Pelican protector but seems to offer far more protection.

The Pelican is 'cheap looking and feels cheap'.

I received my Pelican Voyager in the mail today for my incoming 6 Plus. I'm returning it first thing tomorrow. I don't feel like it is protective enough. It's 2 pieces of plastic that snap together and is very flimsy feeling. I thought it had a TPU lining but it does not. It is slim. But to me I'd rather have bulk and peace of mind than slim and flimsy feeling. I was very disappointed with the Voyager. It does feel cheap. It looks nice but the overall feel isn't the quality I had expected. Just my opinion though. Guess I'll look at the Otterbox, Griffin or Ballistic.
